EFC delistings

I think hams might be a chance of being put on the rookie list. He got a load of talent but need more time to build up .hes only 20 a big year in the vfl would do him good. When he was at gippy power he battled to put 5 games together. He is his own worst enemy with his attack on the ball, but if you look at Langdon at the hawks it took him 4 years at least in the system to come good.

Thanks to @EssendonFC for allowing my afl dream to become a reality. Big thanks to all the fans. Going to miss all the boys.

I just went from wishing him the best for the future, to really hoping he finds another club. Classy exit

First Crameri and now Hardingham. Who will we us it for next?

I hope he gets a shot at another club as I really liked him and he has some of the tools!
Good luck mate

Rayner is a suprise, as he doesn't take up a list spot.

think hes pulled a swifty

I hope they all win Premiership Medals at other Clubs before Paddy does.

Now that Gregory is gone hopefully the recruiters don't pick another super skinny tall player like we did with Bock. Complete waste of a spot on the list. You have to be strong to be a KPP. You can get away with being skinny as a HFF but as a KPP, you've got to have some strength and size.
Good luck to Jetta and Hardingham with whatever comes next. They gave their best and played at a level most of us could only dream about.
Rayner was a project player, I'm not fussed about it.

Dustin Fletcher and his 75 year career says hi!

You've actually just proved my point.  Fletch is a once in a generation freak who can read the play as well as anyone.

Fletch is 92kg, Gregory is 76kg.  16kg difference is astronomical.

You obviously don't want to let facts get in the way of your point or else you wouldn't compare apples to oranges... Wouldn't mind betting that fletch wasn't quite 92 kilos at the start of his career..

No kidding fletch wasn't 92kg when he started but the fact is that Gregory has to put on another 16kg to be competitive because he's not Fletch.  What's the bet Fletch was a lot heavier than 76kg at 20, which is how old Gregory is.  To say that Fletch started off really skinny and ended up being a champ, therefore others can do it is far fetched because Fletch is a freak, there's no one like him, he had unbelievable ability right from the start.  Did Gregory show the promise in his first 2 years that Fletch did?  Obviously not, Fletch is a freak of nature and just because Dustin Fletcher can do something doesn't mean others can.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack the thread.  Good luck to all the delisted players, even Gregory!

Dalgliesh had pace and took the game on.  I still remember one run he made in his second game that was gutsy and exciting.  Hope he stays in, I love watching players who have a crack.

DVU is hanging on by his fingernails right now, must be next in line? Can't think of who else we might delist off the senior list, must be one going to the rookie list, possibly Browne if his body isn't right.

Browne just signed a new contract a few weeks after doing his knee. Think he will stay on the main list.

Also a completely different style of football when Fletch started playing.

Maybe we are looking at another rookie b list player?

EXUM!

Maybe we are looking at another rookie b list player?

Dodoro said when introducing Conor McKenna, "he will be our rookie b list player for 2015".

There was no plural tense in his statement. I thought it was just a slight grammar error at the time.

Good old Adrian had left a clue.

From this I also garner that we won't be getting our 200cm American basketballer this year.

I've always thought if you're good enough, you're big enough. Gleeson's big enough at 70kg, Hams is not at 71kg (and 4 inches shorter). Gregory at 76kg...

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/skinny-kid-dustin-fletcher-who-arrived-at-essendon-in-1993-still-skinny-and-going-strong/story-e6frf9l6-1226613362552?nk=8435c75b39624d172c3e9cdb906f3b94

Fletch was 70kg when he started - but he was only 17.

Certainly 90s key position play was more about brute force, they never got heavier or stronger than Lockett, Dunstall, Sav and God etc. Fletch was always out-bodied by those blokes even when he got up to 100kg in the late 90s, the wrestle was never his go.

Nowadays key forwards have to work much harder on the lead, actually be able to run, and need to have reach as there's just that much less space to work in. No 188cm key talls around...

Johnny Raynor off the Rookie B list and onto the Doc Reid succession plan.

Maybe we are looking at another rookie b list player?

You're allowed 3.
Alex Keath won't be eligible for rookie B until December.

Dalgleish will not be delisted. I'm guessing Kav will be the last one let go.

+ 1

He's contracted.

Can still be delisted, just that his contract gets counted in the salary cap for next year.

would be a bit prick ish to delist him while he has a contract, after the last few months of pretty much everyone associated with the club hanging **** on Ryder leaving cos he has a contract.

What's good for the goose. If players can seemingly break contract and get what they want, clubs should be able to as well.

As other said, surprised on Rayner.
At the moment, it seems like unless Winders retires someone who is contracted is going to need to be delisted and rookied. My candidates would be Pears or Browne. Both have had a plethora of injuries and there is good odds they might not even be available for selection at any level for good chunks of 2015.
I wouldn’t want to see Dalgiesh go - my hope is he can do a Colyer. Having Colyer, Dalgiesh and a fit Hibberd & Dempsey would do a lot for our pace issues.
