How often do you get security notifications (Video footage) from your Tesla when parked in public place, like if someone walked past talking loudly would that turn it on.
Or if someone bumped it as walking past.
You set Sentry Mode and it detects if anyone touches car in any way. Lights flash, horns sounds for a while and it records the event and save it and the ten minutes before in the flash drive on board. It also sends a warning to your phone. Do not believe it activates from a loud noise.
Good feature, but the down side is that it takes power. I had it turned on when I did a trip to Perth and left the car at airport parking. Could watch the car and surrounds at any time and record any approaching cars. I watched the battery falling in charge as well. Was away about 5 days and it consumed about 15% of battery over this time.
The after-market people have offered dash-cams of various prices
Dash camera front $1,590
Front and rear - 2 options, not sure of the difference between them $2,195 and $2,395
Considering you can buy dash-cams for under $100, I’d like to know the differences.
Don’t know about other EV or Dashcams, but Tesla has 5 cameras. Front, rear, each side and inside.
Also again if you have the feature turned on, it records any accident, plus the ten mintues before and after to a Flash Drive. Probably will become a standard feaure in all cars.
“This is how you were conceived Timmy”
yeh thats a bit creepy. Mind you no doubt your smart phones are always listening.
All sentry footage taken by a Tesla goes back to head office.
There was some story about it, I think Tesla employees we’re passing around lewd footage taken from them.
Heres the article
Yeah I dont get it. The NSW govt has hydrogen buses. It must be costing them a fortune to run them over diesel or even a battery vehicle
As part of its successful bid for the 2008 Olympics, Beijing put 3,000 electric buses into service.
They’re likely ■■■■ if they’re not using a Sony sensor.
Ordered Monday lunchtime. Just arrived. Using FedEx, so that’s probably the difference.
Tesla have cut their prices again.
That entry level model 3 would be pretty competitive now
Interesting.
I think there was talk of them introducing a new low cost small car. But maybe they just make the 3 that model?
The new cheaper version will come out but its probably a few years away to get here… Gee When was the last time you heard of a car company cutting prices??? Go Telsa
its also competition.
Teslas im sure I read somewhere(ie dont ask me for a link i just remember reading it) are starting to have big margins. (As costs of their inputs drop and they are completely vertically integrated) so plenty of capacity to increase volumes and improve revenue/profits.
Also there’s some insanely cheap Chinese EVs being built.
The savings are coming from them switching to the BYD batteries.
There are about 70 EV makes in China and over 200 factories. Most of the 6 million cars made are domestic Chinese market and about 500,000 are exported including my Tesla 3 that was made in Shanghai.
Tesla say that at least 75% of these Chinese companies will go broke in the next two years as they do not make a profit.
