All I know about any BMW that the base price is one thing, but then virtually everything BYD supply as standard is an extra with a Beamer. So while the BMW may be a better car, make sure that it has all the features at the price quoted.
They have stripped out a few things I like with the beamer, but there are also some things I donāt like with the BYD. Can things like regenerative breaking / one pedal driving be added to BYD on an OTA update? Or wired plug-in for CarPlay?
If an electric car doesnāt have regenerative braking, Iād be amazed. This is how the battery gets recharged, and why city driving is more efficient.
Iād also not rely upon OTA updates (aside from Tesla) as some manufacturers donāt support them in smaller markets like AU.
It has regenerative braking, but it is very light and doesnāt allow for one pedal driving.
Interesting.
Iād have thought you can increase and decrease the regenerative.
Yeah, I think it is a conscious choice by BYD which is a bit strange. The functionality is there, so I wonder if it is something they are able to fix down the track - presumably it is a software issue rather than hardware
Lol. New term enters the vocabulary : āIceHOLESā
ā¦
This outrageous parking problem infuriates EV drivers and I agree with them (yahoo.com)
Are those parking spaces EV only or can anyone park in them? If the latter, play onā¦
They generally say something like please donāt park here unless need EV recharging.
charging at shopping centres really shouldnāt be offered, especially those that fill up. regularly.
A mate has the Seal performance and my brother in law the BMW.
The beemer is the nicer car, the seal has a longer range I think.
Both on their first EV and both happy with what they got.
(Even though both bought without test driving which I thought was nuts).
The beemer driver had driven the regular 4 series and felt it was a good transition if that helps.
Tech wise(and I have no idea how they compare) id check charging times.
Why not ?
It is a great idea to be able to charge your car and doing the groceries. Many Tesla EV charging are at McDonalds or small shopping centres, I have never seen any issues.
so people can park at a shopping centre?
Lots of parking for gas guzzlers.
since when has australia ever care about minorities?
Except EVās do nothing for saving the planet.
Sounds like something an ICEHole would say. Are you an ICEHole?
Maybe not but a lack of tailpipe emissions and noise make for much nicer cities where well most of us live.
Thats worth it on its own imho
