Electric Motor Vehicles

That’s because that’s where the Aussies take over from the Chinese.

Nor over most of history.

Should note that Tesla themselves made I think all their designs freely available.

So they invited others to copy/use whatever they invented.

I just mean I think it’s the xpeng 6 looks just like a Tesla y on the road

I think the Cybertruck is Tesla’s main offender. The Cybertruck is still put together by hand which could be a contributing factor. Luckily they don’t sell them here.

The S and X are bad too, again not sold here anymore.
The 3 & Y are better.

The person who finally resolved my issues was Choomy ■■■■.

I will ask again

What Tesla do you have and what are your QC issues ?

I admit to being a member of the Tesla cult. I know many Tesla owners and I am not aware of these QC issues that you mention. Consumer Reports are not known as being unbiased, but who knows.

So my friend in Sydney who have just had a new Tesla S Plaid delivered is driving a fictitious car ?

I saw a Cybertruck on display in Canberra. It is huge.

5.7 metres long
2.1 metres wide
1.8 metres high
3050 kg weight

The cargo bed is 1.9 m x 1.3 metres

Just a tad smaller than F250

I don’t have a Tesla, but two my colleagues do. The Tesla S is a pile of crap, the Tesla 3 seems moderately reliable.
But there is more than enough evidence overseas that they aren’t reliable vehicles.
PS I own a bicycle. My wife has a car.

Tesla S is not sold new in Australia, it has not been for some time . If he got one, it’s either an older one or he’s got it imported.

2023

The Cybertruck was almost the best selling E pickup in May even after Elon was called a Nazi and the Cybertrucks were set on fire. If the Ford CEO was called a Nazi and the Lightning pickups were set on fire there would probably be almost none sold in May.

Not something I can dispute. The only thing I would say is that there is not many options in the pickup range. It is pretty much F150 or Cybertruck. This is changing and there are going to be a lot of choices over the next couple of years which will impact Cybertruck as it is so expensive. and also a pile of crap.

Might be too early to tell with that data.

Of the top 3 I’d take the Rivian. But I’m not someone who needs or likes these huge vehicles.

The BYD Shark is pretty massive in person, so assume it would similae to these others.

My lad has a Shark and loves it. He uses his mainly on weekends to go up to his shack on the river

Could it also be because of pre-orders? Most of the cyber trucks had non-refundable deposits paid well before Nazi Elon and deliveries took place after.

The same can be said here with the Model Y. Sales figures were showing good sales after all the Elon drama however all the Model Y’s were pre-ordered. People aren’t deciding on these cars when the sales figures are coming in, but months and months earlier and usually have put $$$$ non-refundable down already.

True test will be the sales figures in the coming months.

In the articles it says they are actual completed sales. That is how Tesla also reports figures here. In any case, generally delivery of Model 3 and Model Y is less than three weeks in Australia.

Three years ago my Model 3 took 3 months, and last year Mrs Fox Model Y took 4 weeks. Even then though you could get the low end model virtually in a week.

Fair enough, however I doubt the cybertrucks have a 3 week wait. They had a notorious wait times on these. I remember the initial buzz on sign up was slowly lost over the years of waiting to hear anything for the deposit they put down.

I don’t think you can get a cyber truck here can you, despite telsa taking people deposits.

Actually don’t think they will land here , and I wonder if they would meet some of our design rules. I saw one on display in Canberra which was left hand drive and it seems like a concept car only. But they have sold 50000 in USA.
