Elite Bulldogs Vs Essington Rabble (Match Review Thread)

Yes. The price we paid.
But perhaps not the correct decision, in hindsight.

One does wonder why we so pathetic at the start of the season when we basically had a full list to choose from.
It’s only JLT1
It’s only JLT2
It’s only Round 1
It’s only season over

Maybe, but I think there are far worse saga contract mistakes than this one.

I mean… Worsfold being replaced by Caracella does read like a blitz wet dream.

Much like Knights being replaced by Hird…

There were three jobs vacant and Cara wasn’t a chance for any of them. I really doubt he’s come to us on a promise.

Eeeeexactly.

Performance based contracts for everyone.

100% right pathetic coaching

Merrett was the only one who tried to make a stand after half time

Could single out a lot of players but please no Myers and Baguley ever again

Too scared just in case someone complains how big our arms are

I’m not sure you’ve been that discussed, but welcome to the jungle all the same.

cheers had to voice my anger

Myers is done after this season. No need for this “look to move on” he knows, the club knows it
Ripping bloke that didn’t quite deliver on his potential.

Hooker is injured. Shouldn’t be playing.

This coach is delusional wow

■■■■ sake
Who did you expect them to pick?
Blokes that can’t stick a tackle in the VFL
Blokes collecting 4 touches a game in the VFL

Bar Lav there was no else. They literally walked the ball out of our F50.

IMO Myers knows this is it for him, not his fault our injury list is huge

Given that our VFL team also got thrashed I dont think the problem was player selection.

There is a key element that’s missing from your appraisal.

I think if people genuine saw the coach trying everything possible to try and improve the team onfield, then they probably would be cut some more slack.

The easiest example is this year, as it’s fresher in the memories, but all coaches even back to sheedy of 07 have fallen into a similar pattern.

Can you honestly say that worsfold this year has tried everything possible to improve the playing fortunes of the team ?
I’d say no
Draper was flying and not given a game when belly was struggling, and they gave clarke a game before him.
they continues to play Myers well past his used by date, ditto bags. they struggled early in the season and didn’t give enough of a go to either hams or mynott when he was in form.
Thatcher hasn’t been given a go despite solid form all year, and the fact hooker is struggling big time.
they’ve kept playing injured and underperforming players all year.
the list goes on and on, and it continues to over every coach.

So the main issue in peoples impatience is, they aren’t really trying to develop players, they aren’t trying as many new things as possible.
they have a set group of players they choose to play, which has not yielded anything past a 7th place finish and a first round belting in finals in the odd years they make it.

Same the same result happened last night, but zerk, mynott and hams were in the side, or maybe ridley instead of mcniece do you think the reaction by the majority would have been the same ?
yes their would have been outliners cough aceman cough (haha sorry :p)
but i reckon the majority would have copped the lose simply cos they were trying something new and the guys brought in would have been kids so what can you expect.

but they didn’t, they did the same old thing they always do, like the previous coaches, they went for named “experienced” players and still got their arses handed to them.

that’s why people are “impatient” because the same mistakes keep getting made by different coaches, and the results always remain the same.
