Elvis Presley's best song?

My mum’s fav was Wooden Heart. Hahaha… nice, remembering her singing it.

The only Elvis song my Mum loved as well against Dads solid Elvis rampage was Wooden Heart I would (no pun intended ) not
play it when we had Elvis nights together, damn going to listen it to it now cheers Deckham :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, well Elvis himself never wrote any songs, but did do a lot of the arranging on most.

Of the songs he sang … the ballads had far more depth & substance than any of the pop/rock stuff, so I’ll go with “In the Ghetto”.

I remember that one making my eyes water when I was a kid.

Can’t listen to ‘in the Ghetto’ without thinking about Cartman singing it in South Park…

I saw a hipster wearing an Elvis tshirt today. So weird.

Lol.
Elvis would have karate chopped him in the friggin’ face.

Anything he recorded for Sun Records, before the “Colonel” got his hooks into him.

Any of his gospel recordings.

Most of the rest is schmaltz.

My other fave cover version of an Elvis toon.

Ry Cooder does All Shook Up.
Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart also did a fair cover on Beck Ola, IIRC.

Big boots!
