English Premier League 2018/19

3 games, 1 point. Not even close to over

I certainly didnā€™t expect Utd to take points off City. What I love is the notion that they actually had a choice in the matter. They didnā€™t. They are a rabble. They donā€™t deserve to be on the same pitch as their local rivals. They should be embarrassed however at how such an expensively assembled squad can look so poor. The honeymoon period is over for Solskjaer, 7 defeats in their previous 9 games. Itā€™s quite prophetic that the wheels have fallen off almost immediately after his appointment was made permanent.

I do agree with most. Canā€™t believe people would say we would lift for City. We canā€™t, we are just a rabble of a side. I wouldnā€™t have signed Ole until the end of season but now they have the only option is to gut this squad and start from scratch. Give him the side he wants and start the rebuild

Disagree that it was only a 2 horse race all season. Spurs were in the title fight until February. Their recent league form has stunk but they were right in it for a long time.

Also your comments about Liverpool bottling it and drawing too much to win the title is just absolute rubbish, especially if you as a Gunners fan consider the folllowing:

  • Liverpool 2018/19 - 88 points after 35 games - have 88 points - 27 wins, 7 draws and 1 loss

  • Arsenal 2003/4- 90 points - 26 wins and 12 draws

This means that Liverpool only need 2 points to equal the points tally of the invincible steam that won the league by 12 points. It is highly likely that Liverpool and City will collect the 2nd and 3rd highest points tally ever. To go through an entire season without a down period is just impossible - hell look what City did in December.

If we win all our remaining games and City do too, they will win it with 98 points with us 2nd on 97. Our tally will have been good enough to win the league every season since the PL began except for the past 2, and will be miles in front of every 2nd placed team. Itā€™s insane that a team, be it us or City, will not win it with such a points total. By now youā€™d have been crowned Champions probably a fortnight ago. Our blip was that stretch of 6 games where we drew to Leicester, West Ham, Utd and Everton. We didnā€™t play well at all during that period. Anyway thereā€™s no need to throw in the towel. 3 games left, anything can happen. We just have to worry about our own form and what will be will be.

Itā€™s a points based premiership so it doesnā€™t matter if Spurs were in it in February, the reality is that you and Man City are miles out in front.

And Arsenalā€™s 12 draws just strengthens that point.

Liverpool has plenty of chances since January to seal this but they havenā€™t.

Itā€™s not over by any stretch though.

De gea has become a shadow of the player he once was. Bring out the cannon in the summer and load the majority of the squad into it and start again

The senior core of players are just toxic.

Wouldnā€™t blame Ole just yet. Theres toxicity in that jointā€¦ itā€™s a ramshackle squad of old and newā€¦ academy and transfer, players who have wanted to leave because of the manager and others who have been openly loyal to two different managers in Van Gaal and Mourinho.

Thereā€™s bench guys on big money like Sanchez and Lukaku, who are on five times the coin of regular starters. Blame the ramshackle transfer and squad development policy of the last five years, not the current manager.

You have contradicted yourself here.

Yet Liverpool will have up to 5 less draws than a team that won the league by 12 points previously.

Draws arenā€™t the issue with Liverpool attempt to win the league. The quality of city is the issue.

Yep, Liverpool might just be plain unlucky despite potentially finishing on 97 points at the end of the season. Thats the beauty of the Premier League, season is so close towards the end and the standard is pretty good.

Bull ā– ā– ā– ā– . Dead cat bounce. Just like when Liverpool brought Kenny back

Or just like when Leicester brought in Raineri after being sacked by the Faroe Islands. How was that bounce for Leicester? Bounced all the way to the title.

You nor I, would have any farking idea after 6 months what a seemingly out of his depth coach might be capable of. Itā€™s too soon to blame Solskajar, particular with this squad

Or you could look at what has happened. Club legend returns, players lift, results improve. Then players and results return to where they were.

I have no idea if he is a good manager. But at the end of the day he still has the same mediocre squad.

Why not use Zidane as an example ? Both he and Solskajar are club legends, similar in age, both have only coached one big clubā€¦ Z went alright.

Agree, squad is p00

Well Zidane inherited a decent squad, not really comparable. Thatā€™s why I used Kenny as as an example

That says more about our pea hearted players than Ole. Should be a privilege to earn squillions whilst playing at a club like United. Get rid of the blokes that pick and choose when to turn up

The top 7 teams record against each other thus far. If only we could beat those in the relegation raceā€¦

Reds putting on a clinic at the moment against relegated Huddersfield. 4-0 up at the 74ā€™ mark. Over to you, City, & go the Clarets.

p.s. Great to see the Ox back.

Edit: Salah & Mane with braces. 5-0.

Always going to be an easy kill. Huddersfield zero to play for. Feel sorry for them, being in the PL and staying up last season was an achievement in itself. Hopefully they donā€™t completely fall off the cliff and have a double relegation. It has happened beforeā€¦
