EPL 2022/23

They would be cursing that kick on De Bruyne late by Fulham. City so close to dropping points there and would mean a 9 point break.

How Spurs first goal was allowed to stand was ridiculous. Meslier gets shoved into his own net and no free kick?? You lay a fingernail on a goalkeeper and itā€™s generally a free kick.

Yeah I fully expected that to be overturned.

Credit to Brendan, heā€™s righted the ship when it looked a lost cause.

Crazy turnaround. Theyā€™ve had 7 clean sheets in the last 9 games (all comps) Truly remarkable.

Leicester now need to make a decision in January to either reinvest or cash in some of their chips like Maddison. A month ago they looked likely to a selling club. Now it may have changed.

You not heard of the top 6 bias in english football Jaymin? We thought ā€œfree kick hawthornā€ was bad, try playing the top 6 with these spineless refs.

I think Madders will stay, but they need to be trying to get some money in January for Tielemans while it is on offer.

Would make very good competition/successor for a rejuvenated Xhaka. At least, offensively speaking. Whether we go down that path after being linked in the summer window, is another matter.

Iā€™m just watching Match of the Day. The City Karma bus arrived big time with Brentford taking the lead in 8th minute of stoppage time.

The only reason there was so much stoppage time was that City were allowed to treat Laporte on field for 7 minutes after he cut his forehead. Iā€™m certain no other team would be allowed to do that. Surely you take the player off to treat him rather than stopping the entire game.

It did look possibly serious at the time, I guess it was precautionary not to move him.
It seemed odd that he was allowed to just continue straight away - Iā€™ve heard commentary before that they need to improve concussion protocols.

A strange opening section of the season for Forest. Weā€™ve had some luck - see Palace missing the penalty as an example - but also quite a bit of misfortune , horrible decisions at Brentford a recent example. Injuries havenā€™t been kind, but equally our second halves have been bizarrely inept too often. We HAVE , in the last three weeks or so, started to look more dangerous up front but not yet finishing off the chances created.

I donā€™t think the situation is as dire as the outright table position would generally suggest. We are, somewhat bizarrely, only 6 points behind ninth and Iā€™d argue that we ā€œdeserveā€ to have another win or two in the bag, despite only showing occasional glimpses of how Cooper likes to play. Johnson and Lingard have missed several chances that youā€™d normally back them in to make. The break probably comes at a good time in terms of injuries , but probably isnā€™t ideal for connection as itā€™s only recently that weā€™ve started to look a bit more coherent in midfield transition.

Need to be better from Christmas onwards, but a reasonable likelihood that we can be.

And in the years ahead, Gibbs-White will show that heā€™s worth every pound we spent on him.

Heā€™s gotta go.

Tear the contract up or do whatever needs doing.

His ego is intolerable now.
