My Newcastle mate is texting me. Not impressed.
4-0 Liverpool. Game over, and nothing less than we deserved. Dom and VVD score in quick succession. Another Wembley visit, will be huge with the Toon Army out in force!
You’re at the top of the tree atm.
Completely dominant in the League and a chance to win a treble. Putting clear water on the rest of the EPL at the mo’ got to be said. But the London clubs are snapping and Newcastle wont be a pushover at Wembley in March.
I reckon after this Cup tie Spurs need to back Ange right in. I think he’s got the players onside and the right personality to go again next season when all players are back … Imo only.
He’s got an alibi for this season being how it’s been, but I still think he needed to change his playing style to make up for the decimated squad. All well and good if you’re healthy, but not when you’ve got 18 year old kids out there. I hope he can turn it around, being the first Aussie to manage in the PL is a massive deal, so I want him to succeed.
Tĥats a QUADRUPLE thanks
Tottenhams kids got taught a lesson today. The gap in experience and class was stark. I am generally annoyed at losing, tbh I felt bad for them, I actually thought they tried. Just got dominated by probably the best team in Europe.
Even Managers learn as years go on.
And I reckon Ange has learnt a heap this season…
He’ll be more savvy and nuanced going forward. You can see that already happening…
But they were simply outclassed this evening.
He didn’t have the troops, the cattle … as promising as they were.
Have to mention Spence and the back four who fought like lions. Midfield were beaten and got to say Kulusevski is off the boil, giving it away far too often.
Should be a great cup final both teams have weapons. Arteta got schooled in both games by Howe, recon Howe doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
100% … Eddie Howe is a fine manager.
He’s probably seen as the manager that will get them part of the way there, but not all the way. But yes he’s done a great job with Newcastle, they are a very dangerous team and we will have our work cut out for us in the final. Isak and Gordon are on top form at the minute.
I think he is starting too now. I was worried about this tie against arsenal tbh… we had lost two league games at home against bournemouth & fulham which had me a tad worried. But we played them off the park. The fact we played this formation for the first time in… ever… got schar to press rice every time (and it worked) everyone knows rice struggles to get it on the turn whilst pressed.
My only worry is we havent beaten liverpool since 2015 can only hope!
Talksport pretty entertaining right now
They always are
Jason Cundy always makes me laugh as the regulars phone in
One thing I will says is Mo’s penalties have been a lot better of late. He’s still not the best penalty taker at LFC (Macca and Dom are better), but he’s hitting the corners far more now. Today’s was pretty emphatic.
Drama in the FA Cup as United beat Leicester 2-1.
Leicester led 1-0 at the break at OT and the United fans booed the players off the pitch. Was a putrid first half and we offered nothing.
Zirkzee levelled with around 20 to go and then Slabhead scored with the last touch of the day but he was clearly offside. No VAR this round of the Cup so the goal stood and United go through
It was a shocking decision by the lineo.
There were about five United players clearly offside.
Ruud very ■■■■■■ off … but thems the breaks I suppose.
Terrible, terrible decision. One round too early for VAR
If VAR is ever removed, which I doubt but hope may happen one day, it’s going to be chaos transitioning back to live calls only. Officiating was always mistake-ridden, at least enough for people to want video assisted refereeing. Imagine how bad it would be after being able to lean on tech for several years.
Well …VAR was geared towards ruling on offsides and penaly shouts. If it took even a fleeting glance at this evening’s United goal the goal would’ve been ruled out.
Anyway … its 4th round FA Cup weekend. Two ties stand out.
Leeds v Millwall
Leyton Orient v City.
The former will occupy half of the UK constabulary to keep the peace. The latter is also a really great tie … last time these two met was 1966 and a 2-2 draw. Orient (aka the Os) arent too shabby. Their ground takes 9500 fans.
