EPL 2024/25

They’re not letting him leave for nothing. I doubt they’d even sell him, if they didn’t desperately need the cash.

Chisea to Liverpool at a truly bargain price of 10m.

Provides us with some quality depth on the wings. Very happy with this

Yeah, he will provide good depth and maybe if he stays out of the injury ward he can get some of his brilliance back. Injury has really impacted his last couple of seasons unfortunately

Liverpool have a bad track record with Italians.

I’ve seen Chiesa play for Fark Italy and he’s been impressive. It’s a potential bargain deal for someone of his talent, so hopefully that proved to be the case.

We’ve also completed the signing (subject to work permit approval) for the Georgian goalie Marmardashvili, who will remain on loan at Valencia for the season. Interesting, I’m not sure what this means for Alisson and whether he’s out the door at the end of 2025/26 when his contract expires. Ali has said he has no intention of leaving LFC (knocked back a chance to move to Saudi), family is settled on Merseyside and he would like to stay beyond his current deal. Regardless I don’t see Kelleher staying another year as understudy, so smart business if we’ve boxed off the #2 position already…

Haven’t watched it, but outside of the first minute, a very much new-look Forest - four debuts and a 3-4-1-2 setup- have reportedly been quite impressive against Newcastle in a Cup game at half time.

Edit - Silva brings us level at 50 minutes.

Chiesa was Italys best player at the 2020 Euros IMO but he copped a bad knee injury in 2022 and just hasn’t been the same. He was getting back to some decent form and then his knee flares up again constantly so he misses a few games and then rinse and repeat. Not sure if he can further surgery to fix it

Chiesa got frozen out by Juventus and was forced to leave. They are playing youth in his place

At his best he is a genuine gun, but he hasn’t been the same since the injury he suffered at the euros. Juve wouldn’t force him out the door if they thought he wasn’t cooked

New Chelsea gaffer has laid down the law. Basically said to Sterling and others " Fark off and find another club before deadline day because you won’t get any minutes from me". He’s probably gone himself by Christmas

If he can be the new Shaqiri, come in off the bench as an impact player, start the odd game and bob up with goals, etc, it’s well and truly worthwhile.

Just seen that Southampton have agreed a fee with Arsenal for Aaron Ramsdale. Initial £18M, plus £1M if Saints stay up, then another £6M in performance add-ons.

I agree
For €13m you take the risk

I don’t think his salary requests and the fact he had only a year to run on his contract helped the situation at Juventus either

Gonna be conflicting for you smooth, cheering for an Italian!

If he stays injury free, you got yourself an absolute bargain

I hope he takes a dive and earns Liverpool a penalty at Goodison Park. The goal relegates Everton to the Championship and Liverpool fans chant “Italia, Italia” to celebrate. The camera pans to @smooth who noticeably twitches and shakes like a human robot malfunctioning.

Hey @Sweet16 where did you get your profile image? Can you send it to me, i’d like to make an Essignton T-shirt for my brother. Apologies for pinging this in here.

Our history with Italians has been pretty poor, so if he can break through then I’ll be impressed! Opportunistic signing, but I like it. Our forward options now:

Salah
Luis Diaz
Jota
Nunez
Gakpo
Chiesa

Incredible!

Wow, despite having the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea after him, Ivan Toney has decided to join Saudi league club Al Ahli. Also another striker linked to a PL club for a long time Victor Osimhen has also headed to Saudi.
