Maybe @riolio could add (no pun intended) something like that other well known footy site has …
Put whatever amount is required to pay for servers in a Donor box, and let Blitzers take care of it at their will, and pocket any Ad rev that comes in as a royalty payment for all your hard work for the community here over 20 Years,
Maybe also call for some high tech types to volunteer to take some training from you about what to do if shitt goes wrong so there’s 2 or 3 other Admins that can deal with problems so you are not the one & only that can sort it, and you should then be largely free of the hassle but still getting a token pension for your effort.

I also would be happy to donate, and there’s a difference between you and Essendon. The difference is that you’ve done what you do well, and you deserve to have the cost of it covered (and if there’s a small surplus for you, so much the better).
So I repeat what Bacchus asked in the first reply: how much does it cost you? He asked per month, but I think per year is a better figure. Then we can work out how much each of say 100 donors would have to put in, and I bet that far more than 100 Blitzers will stump up. The reason I think an annual figure is better is that we don’t want to have to remember to donate 12 times a year. Better to donate once and cover a whole year.
