Who would of thunk that if the forwards and mids were more defensive it would give our defenders a better chance one on one?
Lloydy can hardly contain his excitement talking about THE on the footy show.
Probaby offset by Stringer and Daveys good goals and Langers 2 from the boundary
Perkins, Langford and the whole backline. Durham good too.
More structure change with having Stringer in the centre square and then not letting them have a spare so much behind the stoppage so the could quickly rebound.
Also, all around the ground lift in intensity.
Huge win for the club. Consistency with effort and intent is becoming a habit for this group which is so awesome to watch. If we can start to become more efficient and better with our forward entries we will become an extremely good footy team.
Dons game review about to be on the Sunday Footy Show
And prob Perkins & McGrath in Lou’shandball comp after
At this rate he is going to hit his career win tally at north by round 11 with us in his first season.
Of course the last 3 minutes of 2 we were building as well. But I compare it to Geelong Port, not even close in any respect except maybe resembling the manic pressure. I’m not at all unhappy, love that we’re developing proper footy traits finally, just not getting loopy about it.
3rd loss straight for GWS to top 8 teams too. They’ll probably straighten up at the pointy end but we got them in a slump.
Gee ya have to sit through some junk to get there…
Good to see the media team getting amongst it on Sunday/mother’s day …some great vids being dropped as well.
Agree with Davey. Despite two contributions he was pretty much non-existent. Have to go back to the VFL.
Despite having the yips, Stringer was instrumental in the second half being thrown to the centre bounces. Either cleared it himself or more often freed up space for his team mates.
Andy McGrath throwing in the Canadian accent on the Sunday footy show
I normally have a go at Jones and whilst he wasnt great if he kicks those two we probably give him a pass. Peter Wright on the other hand probably deserves a bit of a whack. Just seems to be lacking intensity and belief. Runs under the ball and just doesnt look likely. Just need more from him, otherwise teams will wake up and double team Langford.
Last 10 minutes was great from our home crowd, just cheering every tackle and stoppage, whilst we werent scoring it was beautiful to watch. Cant believe how good our midfield depth is.
Not a big deal yesterday obviously, but when icing the game martin has to be 100% certain that he is going to hit that target when he was lining up for goal.
If you’re going to give up a 50/50 shot of scoring a goal to pass the ball then yeah there can be 0 doubt.
I love seeing everyone saying we got an easy fixture, yet we’ve been favourites for 2 games
and a system that should stand up in finals
Creating and absorbing that type of pressure is what we need to take that step to be competitive in finals.
And with lots still to be improved upon, it’s going to be exciting to see what we become.
But we can’t ease up one bit on the development and discipline to improve and build this side into a genuinely competitive side - so a lot of hard wok and tough decisions still to be made.
The only easy part about our fixture is the long break after Anzac Day.
Haven’t watched the game yet and was listening yesterday, took in a little bit of 6pr Perth with Brad Hardie and Glen Jakovich doing special comments and both we’re praising Jake for the the work he was doing in the second half which he wasn’t gonna get any stats for.
