Evan🐍 Returns

Evans should be banned for life from all Essendon events.

spat on the legacy of his family

Bit tough.

He didn’t bring Dank into the Club, and maybe he made a mistake. We would all like to know the whole truth from everyone, but I doubt we ever will.

And as you know, truth can have many different faces depending on your perspective.

Forgive, just don’t forget.

First time he has been seen at the club since he had his breakdown, and wasn't until Hird was no longer on the scene. That tells me all I need to know about the integrity of the man ... somewhere just south of Caro and Vlad.

Did anyone actually believe the “Breakdown” excuse/story…

I have very little time for the man anymore, but that was no story. And it was more than just ’ a breakdown’. It was probably pressure related, and it was nasty.

No.

It’s not about forgiveness. It’s about him explaining why and how he let his business associations get in the way of allowing people maintain their innocence until proven guilty.
By taking the path he did he tarnished everyone, including the players.
Then he conveniently jumped ship.
Now back on dry land he thinks he can just turn up again.

Why should we forgive him when he hasn’t explained? This might be the result he wanted for all we know.
Doubtful, but who knows?

Forgiveness is not about the other person explaining their actions or even apologising, it is about whether you can forgive without those other things being offered.

That Wilson is STILL getting stories from inside the club ■■■■■ me. That Evans attended a past-presidents pow-wow doesn't.
Probably Ray.

And I’ll happily answer “no I ■■■■■■ can’t”.
David Evans and his family are great Bombers people.

They have made huge contribution to our Club. He may have made a mistake or two, but everyone deserves a second chance. Get over it and move on.

You might be right about his family but his was the ultimate betrayal.

It takes years to build a reputation, a station in life, a trust with and of people but it takes one second to destroy that with one despicable act.

Does Hirdy?

Evans is AFL, not Essendon anymore. He sold us up the river to protect himself and Andy D. He can still ■■■■ off and etc

You guys are huge revisionists, I can't believe there's hardly any support for Evans in here.

You blame him for being strong-armed by Vlad into self reporting? He had been told directly by Vlad that we were mentioned in an ACC report and that the AFP and customs had strong evidence to suggest Dank & Robinson had been injecting our players with PED’s.

Firstly, you think Evan’s “self-reporting” would have made any difference? Pretty sure if Worksafe, ASADA, AFP, AFL wanted to raid our offices they wouldn’t have had any trouble getting the required permissions. Remember part of everybody’s contract with the AFL compels them to comply with ASADA if instructed to by the AFL. The fact is, self-reporting made no difference to the evidence collected and was intended to show that we had nothing to hide.

Secondly, I love how you guys think we can just “stick it to the AFL”. Haven’t you learned a farking thing? Evan’s either thought we were innocent (which I thought we were in agreeance that we WERE innocent right?), in which case self reporting was the right thing to do. If there was a problem, we wanted to know what it was, and hopefully any penalty would be reduced. Remember when we were looking at 30 players being banned for 21 months?

And if Evan’s though we were guilty, then shame on him (you blokes never doubted us for a second did you, lol), but he was told directly that we were farked and it was all about to be announced by the minister, at which point in time any kind of deal or co-operation might save the club from being de-registered or whatever. It’s all fine for you tough guys to say “I would have told them to shove it” but when the stakes are as high as they were, you don’t want the person in charge of your country/family/company/club to risk EVERYTHING in choosing one path when there is an almost guaranteed chance of survival on the path. Remember when most of you wanted Hird to withdraw his appeal because whatever we were going to cop you just wanted it to be over rather than rick players missing games?

As for the situation regarding him leaving the club, he relinquished his role when it was clear his course of action hadn’t worked, and he was breaking down from the pressure, which was honorable IMO. Are people saying he faked his illness suggesting they wanted him to stay on, otherwise stop complaining.

The one thing you failed to mention or maybe you didn't know, "allegedly" Vlad, Evans and ASADA had a little under the table deal going about what was going to happen but somehow the NRL "got wind of it" and ASADA dropped the AFL like a hot brick. Lies, lies and more ■■■■■■ lies were to follow.

Most of us, are angry at Evans putting the club and the players in this position in the first place. The Board either condoned this behaviour or they didn’t know about it. One thing is certain, the very day our club went down this path, our integrity went out the window and it has been slowly ebbing ever since. Disgraceful, yes it was and it will be a long time, before we as a club earn back the respect we have lost, if we ever do. People will always think we are dodgy.

And that’s apart from throwing the Coach under a bus and not giving a damn about the players and of course at the bottom of the ladder are the members and supporters.

Evans did some great things for our club, but also made some shizen decisions. When Jimmy forgives him, I will too.

That’s it, “the appearance of clean air” everyone involved in everything from the bottom of AFL House to the top, knows what’s going on at the EFC. Now, Evans makes his first appearance back at the club since “his breakdown” (that we know of.) What will it be next, dinner parties at Gil’s place? The AFL ( looks like) it runs the EFC after all we are just a franchise. I guess we, the life blood of the club supposedly, had slowly better start getting used to it or NOT. Who cares?

Everything will have “a good look” the tick and flick sheet is going along beautifully as planned. Get rid of James Hird. New Coach and coaching staff, Little resigns now what and Who is next?
Elephant stamps all round for the EFC Board. Job done then.

Evans or Wilson, whatever.
This just shows that Essendon is still a club divided, and hasn’t even taken the first step towards kind of okayness, let alone success.
The humour’s worn off now. Now it’s just sad.

You get a second chance when you show remorse. I’ve seen no explanation, contrition, apology or any kind of retributive action.

And no, “move on” just doesn’t cut it. That kind of attitude is why these people in positions of power get away with what they do. They just for the fickle masses to turn their attention to the next thing.

Hindsight being a wonderful thiong and using Cronulla as the shining example...I wonder had we followed Cronulla's course, would we still have "the problem"?

we’d be bonafide drug cheats.

Which Cronulla version? The Paul Gallen side who bitterly regret accepting an Asada deal? Or the ones who told em to nick off and have never heard another thing about it? Whilst our players have been found not guilty in a hearing and are still pursued?

I’ll never forget and never forgive David Evans on how his decision caused the witch hunt of our club and destroy the reputation of James Hird over the last three years, without ever offering his explanation and hiding from the public.

A lot of people cannot

Wazza said;

"I cannot look at Evans as a good bloke anymore.
Sent us up **** creek and hasnt explained what happened.
The silence is damning IMO. "

Ever considered we might be better off with the silence?

Us better off or his personal interests?
