Ex-#13 Orazio Fantasia - well… bye

Don’t forget the screenshotted whatsapp group chat. Half the team wants out!

Raz’s upside is high and he’s still young. I think he is worth #30 and his chances of contributing a few good years to crows would be greater than whoever is picked with #30 in this draft lottery.

thats highly debatable considering his injury history. no way will we get 30 for him

Tom Browne saying the issue could be money.

He’s got a good deal with Essendon for next year, Crows/Port would be offering less.

Tom Browne just agreed with me (re #30) so I guess I have to concede I’m wrong wozziebomb.

I know that Orazio has played very little footy over the past 2 years, but I will miss this guy!

I have memories of sitting on the couch with my youngest son screaming ORAZIOOOOO every time he marked and goaled. The smile on my boys face was priceless.

He now has no interest in footy and doesn’t understand why all he hears on the news is that Essendon players are leaving!

Good farking riddance. I don’t know if he told the club directly but I’m willing to believe that he’s the type of prick that would have the SA clubs do his dirty work for him.

Shut the door behind you but be careful of pulling your calf, again.

This bloke is criminally overrated by many. Aside from an isolated patch in 2017, he seldom delivered due to an injury-prone body. Best we move on and build for the future. Similar to the Daniher fiasco, it’s the ideal outcome for both parties.

Out of curiosity, how many crucial games against Collingwood did Fantasia end up missing while playing for us? It must be some kind of record.

a isolated “patch” is a bit of a stretch, he did kick 40 that year. let’s not re write history. he may be terribly injury prone but he was tracking to be a elite forward, and if he gets his body right he’ll be a pretty damn handy player. hope he can for his sake

mid 2nd rounder. he’s worth more than jake melksham was, and it’s a weak draft.

Home to the ‘darl’ with his jumper draped over his shoulders… see ya!
Sorry, but I’m over it.
Edit- I have loved watching Raz over the years & he is magical at his best. But if he wants to go home then go. I really want whoever is playing to really want to play for the Bombers… not just tread water for 12 months.

Yeah, you don’t kick 40 in a year as a 21yo without being very very good. It’s silly to underrate what he was capable of - he was 100% tracking to be one of the top 2 or 3 small forwards in the game.

Looks like he’s going to be just another EFC might-have-been though.

They’ll probably break up when he gets back.

Huge loss, so much class and X Factor.
Only downside is he can’t get any continuity due to injury.
Would rather he stay than Tippa

Al the great Clarkson sent his captain pinchy out to target Orazio for a good reason.
There was a period when eddie betts fell away and charlie cameron hadn’t fully established himself, and raz was the AFLs MV small forward. Didn’t last but for that period he was a star.
