I don’t understand the comparison. Can you explain how this is Mercuri-esque ?
If we managed to get a 2nd for him take it and run, and pay some of his salary net year.
From (almost) our most important player (yes, both were that classy and that important) to plodder within a couple of seasons. Mercuri’s last couple of seasons were torturous to watch. Same too with Fantasia.
I’m not talking circumstances (as I said, completely different reasons), I’m talking purely onfield performance.
That’s pretty offensive to Mercuri
Jeezuz, at least Mercuri had a decade of silky match-winning football behind him when he did finally hit the wall!
Need chaill same height, same weight, 6 years younger…let’s get some more games into him
Yes, It sounds like common sense. I know that has gone out of fashion. Just let him go. With the right draft picks.
It does sound like Adelaide are pretty cool on him
May not get the salary he needs to move
Not intended - it was bloody hard to watch. Knowing how good he’d been, knowing of the circumstances. Of course it impacted his performance, and badly.
Fantasia drop-off has been equally massive, albeit for completely different reasons.
Not so sure
Mossie
Of course he did. Not arguing that in the slightest. More that it’s sad to see an obviously very talented footballer be WAY below their best for a prolonged period.
I get what you’re saying. Sure Mercuri had many more runs on the board before he went downhill but the fall is similar. Raz, like JD was one of the few players that gave us hope if he got back to his early form. Unfortunately we’re not going to be seeing that happen.
This dude is cactus, move on
Didn’t realize you could like your own posts…
Such an Italian thing to do, get paid up front before the job is finished then not finish the job properly.
Just the fact they talked about him suggests they’re interested. They’re just trying to bargain down his price.
Either or will do. Mossie
In 2020 he kicked 9 of his 19 goals vs final 8 teams, in 2019 he kicked 13 out of his 33 including a bag of 7 v Brisbane.
In 2018 it was 9 out of 26, in 2017 it was 16 out of 34.
He’s just not that good against class opposition
That equates to a small forward kicking just under half his goals against top 8 teams, in an 18 team comp.
So just under half against 8 teams.
Just over half against the other 10.
Based on your stats he averages .16 less goals per game against top 8 sides. Hardly compelling. And these are the stats you are choosing to back up your own argument?
Ffs. Try again.
Depending on how many Draft Picks the Crows intend to use, I think we may be a chance to get both Picks 44 & 48.
In terms of points, the value equates to the 28-29 region.
They’re not great picks, obviously, but give us options to package them and get closer to 30, or we just take 2 players and hope we strike gold with at least 1 of them.
Edit…if the Crows intend to Pick deep into the Draft, then throw them Pick 61 along with Fanta.
Which then gives them 60&61.
The extra 2 selections in the 40’s then gives us the flexibility to package 41 with Saad in order to appease Carlton for Pick 7.
Brings the value down to 13-ish, which looks about right.
