Ex-#13 Orazio Fantasia - well… bye

He had one good year with port, average and injured the remainder. We got langford. We won that trade pretty easily.

And won a b&f

We already trading OUT caldwell? Nickers u have me confused.

I am hopeful Port have a player that wants to go home for the trade.

Yeah sorry, worded that poorly. I meant that whatever pick we’d get for Raz, we should then trade that pick on to get Caldwell.

So essentially Raz out, Caldwell in.

Be lucky to get a pick in the 40’s for Raz and Caldwell will cost a late first I’d think

That would really suck but I think you may be right.

Dodo won’t accept that he’ll be asking for 26 or a player in return imo

If he is 'outta of Essendon, he’s made his mind up he is gone, we must offload him he doesn’t fit our new criteria which is team. He’s rooting for the wrong team.

I think so too. We would let him go for next to nothing at the end of next year if hes still home sick.

But really if we are offered next to nothing he is worth more to us here.

Fwiw though doesn’t covid make 2021 the easiest recruitment pitch for QLD and the SA clubs.

At least for 1 year(2021 is only maybe a year of a working vaccine) of your next contract, sleep in your own bed every night, no ‘hub’, escape to a life outside footy during the week.

That is the question, isn’t it? Is he worth more to us here? I don’t think so NOT if he doesn’t want to be at the EFC or, to play with the EFC team, will he play at his best? Maybe NOT! This bloke is iffy and has been for sometime. So there is a problem apart from injury.

Perhaps we, are better off without him if he doesn’t want to play here. We are better off to get what we can get or let him walk. We are attempting to create a better culture, he won’t be a good fit will he, unless his attitude changes?

Has there actually been a nomination for Port?

I don’t think there has been other than media speculating it would be so as per below. And even that AFL article has no confirmation on it, just linking Bassett as why he would.

I’d still be sending him to Crows if it helps us trade up.

Report: Fantasia’s trade preference as SA return nears

BY SEN 3 DAYS AGO

Orazio Fantasia’s preference is to join Port Adelaide during the upcoming trade period, according to Nine News Adelaide .

It’s understood Fantasia will meet with the Power in the coming weeks with his relationship with former Norwood coach Nathan Bassett believed to be a key factor behind his decision.

Bassett mentored Fantasia during his four-year spell at Norwood before moving to Essendon as a forward coach and then back South Australia to work under Ken Hinkley at Port Adelaide.

Power GM of Football Chris Davies was asked about Fantasia on SEN SA Breakfast on Monday.

“I’ve used the line over time, I’ve never actually spoken to Orazio Fantasia,” Davies said.

“I reckon I will before he expresses an interest to come to Port Adelaide.

“Whilst Orazio’s still an Essendon player, I think I’ll respect that enough to say that the minute he suggests to us, and more importantly suggests to Essendon, that he doesn’t want to play there, we’ll have an interest then.

“Until then, we’ll keep our powder dry.”

Adelaide head of football Adam Kelly confirmed on SEN SA Breakfast that Fantasia wants to return to South Australia this off-season.

The 25-year-old forward is contracted to Essendon for the 2021 season.

From the HS

Orazio Fantasia has officially told Essendon coach Ben Rutten he is requesting a trade to Port Adelaide on what is likely to be a three-year contract.

One of Port Adelaide’s first two picks in selection 26 or 31 will be on the table for the injury-prone half-forward.

The Power were always Fantasia’s preferred candidate over Adelaide, with the South Australian keen to pick up relationships old and new at the Power.

He is a friend of captain Tom Jonas and has a close connection with forwards coach Nathan Bassett but also struck up an unlikely friendship with small forward Zac Butters during lockdown.

31 would be a good outcome.

Bye bye Ozza, thanks but don’t let the door hit you on the you know where as you walk out.

26 would be better.

Decent pick that, … & he is very likely worth it.

Now THAT’S how you rejuvenate rather than rebuild!

We’ll say 26, they’ll probably say 39.

Settle on 31 and be done with it, everyone should move on happy with that. It’ll end up mid 30s anyway, which is about right.

I loved Raz, shame we didn’t see him in full flight for longer, and wish him personally all the very best.

But Fark Port, hope they fail miserably for the next three years.

That would be nice. I suspect GWS might ask for more though

Either one of those picks would be a great outcome. If they’re really offering one of them we should get it done on the first day of the trade period and move on to the bigger trades
