Family Day - March 7th @ 6.00pm

"Live band playing throughout the event."

Yep that's necessary. It's just annoying as they play rubbish and you can't get away from it.

What have you got against Meatloaf? I'm sure he'll be great!

Hello Blitz, I tried a quick search of the forum but was unable to find a family day topic.

I work in the city and was wondering what would be the best way to get to the family day from the city?

Cheers.

EDIT: to clarify I work near the courts near flagstaff and melbourne central, I hear driving is out of the question with limited to no parking at the facility.

There is tonnes of street parking available - Tonnes.

Off the top of my head
Take the cragieburn train, get off at essendon station walk outside to the mount Alexander side not rose st side, and get the 477 bus it'll take u up past airport west and has a stop at the roundabout where KFC is on Melrose drive at Tula,g et off there and just walk up the road for 5mins and you'll be there

Actually I’m pretty sure I saw that they’re running a free bus service from Broadmeadows station to the HPC from about 5pm onwards. Check on the club website

Did anyone go, if so how was it?

Really good evening. All of the players were available for signatures for over an hour. Great set up, loads of activities. The band was good. Bomber’s speech was a cracker and Jobe really spoke from the heart. Basic messages were ‘we have been training really hard and we reckon we are on track for a consistent season’ and ‘thanks for your support as it really meant alot’ . Car parking wasn’t as bad as I expected.

Was out there from 1.30, catching the live stream of the practice match and the the family evening.

The meal at the cafe was great...$12.50 for fish and chips...$4 for a soft drink and $6 for a beer.

Hard to kill 2 hours but managed it. Parked at the cricket club across the road.

An hour for autographs perhaps isn't long enough, given the length of some of the queues. getting Hurley, Paddy, Buddha and Jakey Melksham in the shorter queue spots was a good move.

Tried to queue for Bomber's membership tent appearance - he didn't do any signing until after the presentation.

Pretty damn cold night in the end and it got dark way too quick.

Geez you hate God.

Sounds like a hard family day's night.

Live three hours from Melbourne and was going to go but ended up not because it was just too hard to get down with work. Much prefer the Saturday.

Hird offered to fix that but they checked with the legal team and there WAS a clause in the terms of settlement stating he was not allowed to fit any "lighting, heating or solar panel fittings or accessories to any EFC facility".

Indeed, on the way to the airport his headlight went out, and despite being able to fix it himself he was advised by lawyers he may be considered too close to the TVC and so he had to call Motor Medics.

After checking with AFL HQ, Hird was able to put in an expense claim for the callout, but it won't be paid until after August.
