I’m with you. Hawthorn are easily the team I loathe the most. In time, if Carlton achieves success, I’m sure normal programming will resume, but for now, Hawthorn 1, daylight to Carlton, Pies and PA.

Kinda bs that a team who earnt a top 8 spot gets kicked out for a team who finished 10th.

It’s nit sustainable and they will get found out next year. Difference is Hawks have a much better list so can stay around top 4.

Really hate to say it, but the Blues will go into next week’s game against the Cats with confidence. They have a pretty good record over Geelong in recent years.
They’ll be bundled out a week later.

This is not ideal for us tbh. If we arrange with Port to not bid on Cochrane, we need Carlton to be able to match a bid for Walker. If they can’t, we lose the end of R1 compo. (Maybe Walker is worth that? Dunno).

Geeze, these ■■■■■■ are lucky.
Handed a finals appearance when we were suspended and now in the very first wildcard season, they get the easiest match up of the round.
Walker shanks too many kicks. We don’t want him for our first pick.
Must admit FC have again acquired elite talent and whether they can push top 4 will depend on quality of players from 11-23.
I think and hope they’re not good enough.
Blues and Pies are clearly our biggest rivals.
Hawks fit in there and perhaps with Pies are the current top 2 as both clubs are successful whereas Blues almost have as filthy a 21st century as we have had.
If Blues start to have any form of actual success theyll very quickly ascend to top spot with Collingwood.

The mutual hate with Carlton is justified.
The hold we had over them in that whole early to mid 80’s period would have riled their Boomer & Gen X fanbase, despite them still taking those 81 & 82 Flags due to our inexperience to advance in the Finals outside of Week 1.
The abhorrent behaviour of their fans post the ‘99 Prelim has been covered on here many times.
Of course, we are not excluded from arrogance and hubris ourselves after a couple of decades of sustained success (at that point), alongside our history.
Anyhow, I respect what they’ve accomplished this year, and I reckon they are almost a 50/50 chance to roll Geelong, whom they play well against.
They won’t defeat the Hawks (or Freo) the following week though, despite a slew of Hawthorn haters on here saying Carlton could win.
