The ability to go into deficit drops that down to 2588 points. It’s going to be rough though. They will definitely need a top 10 pick and either another top 10 or something very close depending on what exactly they get. They currently have zero top 10 picks and port’s pick 4 is the only top 5 pick that you’d think would move (if port knows Cochrane’s not going to be bid on with pick 1 or they don’t match a Butters bid). They’ll really be hoping the swans get run out of the finals in straight sets.

They could negotiate for us not to bid on him if Port dont play ball with us with pick 4, forcing us to bid on Cochrane at 1 and taking another at 2.
Theyd likely have enough points straight out in that scenario with a small deficit. Even if they made prelims and same for Swans whose pick they have they wouldnt be too far off with any loading applied if he went at 3. Over to Rosa.

We all hate Carlton here but we can’t deny this team is going to be a force under Josh Fraser for the next 3-4 years.
We are seeing it already they are the most form team in the league and have already won their first wildcard finals match and they are a grnuine threat to win the grand final, this isn’t fearmongering this is actual truth.
I can see Carlton making it as far as the prelims minimum the momentum they have under Fraser is unstoppable and they have a perfect side humming in a great frequency Mckay is in red hot form and the new recruits Harry Dean and Taylor Byrne are on top of their games at such young ages and will be assets for years to come.
I can see them winning the premiership easily in the next few years they are a force to be reckoned with.
As for us rival fans we all have to hope that our young side can take them on and punch a massive dent in their dynasty aspirations, but the next few years are going to be tough with the way Essendon are in the bottom 8 and Carlton on top form.
For all the doubters on here saying Carlton won’t win the grand final brace yourselves, they are defying the odds every single match, I can’t guarentee they will win it this year but they are nailbitingly close and us as bomber fans with where we are and where they are we’ll have to find ways to deal with it

acquired not just this last draft, but as with their previous finals winning team they had 5 or so elite talents but no depth. hoping for same this time, even though acknowledge that walsh, weitering, dean, smith, cripps and probably walker are good enough at the top end of their list.
as a comparison we have Zack going going gone,
but are hoping we’ve found some others.
Despite how they’re playing, you still might be putting the cart before the horse.
Everyone was saying all of this three years ago. They made the prelim, sure, but they didn’t win it all and they sacked their coach three years later.
‘Defying the odds’ is not sustainable long term.
They have a habit of over performing in finals.
Tell that to EFC, they’ve been defying the odds for 20 years. The odds of winning at least one final.

This is how I see it.
I’m far more worried about this season - the right now - than I am over the next 2-3 seasons.
This is what they do. When all the pressure is off, they go on fairytale runs. I reckon they’ll make a prelim this year, but won’t win it. And then next season, they’ll start as a flag favourite, huge amount of pressure to perform… and that’s when we see typical carlton appear again.
Also… fark them.
