Eddie Betts asked that question on AFL 360 said will Carlton fans turn up on sunday? lols
Voss’s subtlety is really only just dawning on me.
He’s got the team playing a garbage style of football that’ll have terrible trouble kicking a non-mediocre score, but his defensive plan will generally stop FC being scored heavily against either.
So while he’s a crap coach who’s leading FCFC nowhere, they’re very unlikely to ever cop the kind of 12+ goal hiding that gets coaches abruptly sacked on Monday night.
FCFC losing by 20 is not as amusing as FCFC losing by 120, but FCFC losing by 20 points in every game indefinitely is … *chefs kiss*
Watched the replay this morning. Their first 4 behinds were mostly long bombs from outside 50. In the second quarter they improved but as you said a lot of their looks were 45 m out on an angle; hardly dangerous areas to be conceding i50’s to. Blake Acres, Cripps, Kennedy and Walsh butcher the ball something chronic and their small forwards are nowhere near it most of the time.
Anyway let the media help keep Voss in as head coach…I’m happy with that!!
Do any other fellow blitzers struggle to properly articulate to non blitzers, the essence that is “FARK CARLTON”?’
I’ve got a Collingwood mate who has fully embraced the Fark Carlton lifestyle.
It’s also their best side has so many agricultural mids that if you look at the major stats (clearances and disposals and contested posies and inside 50s) it really looks like they’re in most games.
Then you watch them, and it’s 5 fat blokes handballing it each other with the ball going nowhere, then turnover and someone twice as fast whips it down the other end.
I feel like the setup is not dissimilar to a few sides had in the late 00s / wary 00s, including us, ie very out of date.
I was going to venture the old “the coach looks like he should still be playing” chestnut.
But I didn’t cause he doesn’t.
I feel like this should be documented here, as well as the Herb thread for future generations to stumble across:
The fact this bobblehead stuff was the tipping point is brilliant
I love it!!
Although they do have a matching shirt for every club (including Essendon).
At some point this season the Fark Carlton meme will turn 10.
Fark Carlton
Bring back the red shorts. This was the first game I ever went to as a four year old
Was Merrett really holding a bubble head in that photo or was that put in?
Definitely photoshopped but very funny
Harsh but fair.
Ross the Boss would approve of Voss’ plan, 10 years ago.
That’s the look of a Carlton fan that was planning on using his bobble head as a butt plug.
