The “EFC doesn’t draft indigenous guys” theory seems to be a fair way out of date given we’ve now got Lord (2021), Tex (2021), Eyre (2020), Brand (2020), plus had Lachie Johnson (2019), and Mozzie (2018) and Eades from 2016 draft.
Plus had dips at Bobby Hill, Mo Rioli Jr and Kaidean Coleman in that time as well.

Couldn’t care less if we didn’t have one aboriginal player on the list or 20. I want to get to the stage where we have a list consistently playing finals and in contention for winning the premiership. If we get to that stage it shouldn’t matter what the racial make up of the list is.

There was a very obvious non-racist reason we didn’t draft Marlion Pickett.
He had a broken wrist at MSD time, and we couldn’t afford to wait until he was ready. Richmond could.

2023 list probably has Eyre, Brand, Tex, Lord, ADavey3, JDavey and maybe Munkara on the list - as many as 7 indigenous players.

I’m privileged enough to live amongst a very proud indigenous family, some who look like every Caucasian man and women, some who look like Cathy and Eddie.
