Favourite 4th Albums

I think we’ve had a discussion about this album in the debut album thread.

Although Gossip is the 4th album featuring Paul Kelly, it is not the 4th album by Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls…it is in fact their debut album.

(Kelly’s first two albums were with The Dots and his third album was a solo)

Stormwater Boys. The Messengers, The Dots, The Coloured Girls are all just backing bands in my mind. There is a clear evolution of Paul Kelly throughout his albums.

I do understand your point though.

Is that not Lateralus (which was Tool’s 3rd Album)?

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American

A sloppy amateurish debut, then a promising showing on Capitol, then back to an indie with a brilliant third, and then this peak commercial album as their fourth.

Yes

Hmm depends how you classify opiate. Looks like officially that’s an EP but in my mind that’s their debut.

The lads from Liverpool must be in the mix.

The 4th album contained songs such as I’ll Follow the Sun & Eight Days a Week.

Fark…how did I forget The Unforgettable Fire…U2’s 4th album?

(Unless you count Under A Blood Red Sky which was technically released as an EP)

It’s only my all time favourite U2 album
