Santana - Caravanserai
This may have been posted already but if not…Joni’s best album and therefore one of the greatest contemporary albums. 10 beautifully crafted songs, the majority cast iron classics.
#4 Record - You Am I
Ween - Chocolate and Cheese
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Crowded House - Together Alone
Pete Townshend - All the Best Cowboys have Chinese Eyes
Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel IV (aka Security)
Gave this a spin earlier today. Nice selection.
Bon Jovi - New Jersey
For me it’s got to be Def Leppard - Hysteria (already mentioned)
But for something a bit different;
My Dying Bride - Like Gods of the Sun
Creedance Clearwater Revival - Willy and the Poor Boys. Maybe not their best (imo) but certainly a great 4th Album.
I’m going to throw one in from left field.
Take That - Beautiful World (2006)
This is first album after the split and then reformation without Robbie Williams.
Another ripper than I only just came to mind as I played it:
The Church - Heyday
Pulp - His n Hers (really start to hit their stride here)
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead (#1 on NME’s greatest albums of all time)
LL Cool J - Mama said Knock You Out (Don’t call it a comeback)
I’d call this their 3rd. Hatful was a compilation.
Dylan was just warming up by #4.
As was Pink Floyd
Right you are sir. That said, Strangeways will happily slot in its place.
Soundgarden - Superunknown
Pearl Jam - No Code
Faith No More - Angel Dust
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
After going on Friday night to see Depeche Mode Tribute band Strangelove at Billboards I must include dm’s 4th album Some Great Reward here.
This album really was the beginning of cementing them along the way to becoming a worldwide heavyweight of a band and live act.
