■■■ yes.
Lol. I can still "walk the dog" with one of those. Sad but true.
Same. I also had a front tooth chipped when I stood too close to a mate doing " round the world". His was a puncey "fanta" yo-yo which somehow made it worse, lol. IIRC, The primary school pecking order ran coke, Leeds, mellow yellow, fanta. Yes, upon such things was the social order set out......Lol. I can still "walk the dog" with one of those. Sad but true. While we're on nostalgia, who remembers these?
I've still got a spare packet of coke yo-yo strings from the sixties ... 5 cents for a bag of three!
Yo-Yo's have made a comeback in Hong Kong. See children 'walk the dog, around the world, rock the baby. Equipment is slightly changed but the tricks are the same,
Chocolate and Strawberry Hubba Bubba.
Not that I was a fan of either, but Blueberry and Egg Flip Big M.
The 'Chewing Gum Without A Name' which became Spurt.
egg flip big M is the business.

I had one last Friday at Tony's Pies in Buckley St. Still good, even though the use-by-date was some time in the late 70s.

Don't supose any of you kids are old enough to have eaten Sennitts Ice Cream.
ummmmm.......I remember my Dad telling me about them.
 Sennitts morphed into (read was taken over by) Streets.
Sennet's Comet was my favourite. Creamy yet cheap.
l have talked before about the Sennet's Polar Bear logo, that was in another thread, that has since been lost. As a kid l used to love looking out for it when we were coming home by train from town, after a day out. lt was on the side of the railway yards at Flinders St. just after the tunnel. l loved seeing that bear, as it licked a cone of ice cream. To me it was as iconic as the Pelaco sign on the hill at Richmond.
Over here we have a couple of decent ice creams. One is a strawberry based ice cream with some real fruit. Also a couple of mango flavoured ice blocks. In Thailand Wall's has developed a series of fruit flavoured ice blocks, apple, lychee, grape and mixed berry. They advertise them as being high in fruit, low in sugar. They are sensational. Lychee is my favourite.

Was originally called 'Fresh In', but the name went the way of I-snack 2.0.

Hey Boot, I took a picture of an old Sennitts sign yesterday but I can't get it to load onto the site. Any clues why it wouldn't let me do it?

No mate. Ask bwana Riolio. He should know. I'd like to see that pic.
I had Toppa ice-creams drawn to my attention…I believe they were icy-poles though…related to Noon Pies, which we used to get in the school tuckshop.

Still remember some students eating pies with a spoon. Take off the flaky top pastry, and devour the base that was brimming with beef.
We had Noon pies at school, then for some strange reason, Melbourne University brought in Big Ben pies from Sydney. Revolting! Almost as bad as Herbert Adams. This is back when we had a massive dining room at Melbourne...it's all little franchises now.
4'n'20 and Wedgwood were good mass market pies.

fixed
I was reminiscing about the glory days (I'm 29) and going through cartoons we used to watch, different type of lollies we used to eat (remember Ka-Bluey?) However when we got to ice-creams, we couldn't remember one in particular.
To describe:
Standard ice cream on a stick, chocolate coated.
BUT,
There was a solid piece of chocolate at the very centre of the ice cream, about two inches long, on the stick.
Driving us insane.
I'm still trying to remember this one. I know exactly the one you mean. Feast!
Ive searched for this for years but could not remember what it was called. I remember it having chocolate ice cream, and is "the feast" but I dont remember it being called that, I thought it was "triple choc" or something like that.
