Jumping at shadows is my middle name. I was thinking, however, that if we did end up with Band 2 then we could look to outbid North for pick 6.
North have been rumoured to be coming for pick 6 with picks 20 and 21 (1,478 points). After the various FAs (Allen, TDK, Draper and Silvagni) these will become picks 24 and 25 (1,211 points).
We would get currently pick 19 for Draper. We already have 22. These would become 21 and 26 post compo and worth 1,282.
None of this is enough to get pick 6 (pick 7 and worth 1,543 points after Allen). But we still have Saints R2 (25) which is worth more than anything North could offer. So we could ideally exchange that for some later picks to sweeten the deal for GC and retain some for Sweid/Huss.
All this wouldāve been avoided had we managed our contracts properly.
Iām sorry @wimmera1. It sucks enough when your favourite player leaves, but then you have to read all of the āHeās sh*t anywayā posts that come with it.
Some of the stuff thatās been written here has been appalling.

I generally donāt post in player threads. Whatever my opinion on certain players, they donāt deserve the constant vitriol Iāve seen from some posters.
Some unhinged, unfair comments flying around here. Footballās their livelihood first and foremost. Undying loyalty to the club is a nice to have these days. Deal with it, after all weāre now in the hunt for other clubās players too.
No worries. Not really hurting my feelings. Hope you overcome the sad news we are losing a bog average part ruck part forward that has delivered nothing of note in 9 years in either role.
