Kyle says “I’ll have you know… it was 9, thankyouverymuch…”
Reimers kicked 8, but don’t expect Menzies to kick that, so went 7.
Who was that little WC turd who kicked 60 goals against us on at least one occasion, and maybe 50 on another? Menzie reminds me of him a bit.
MarK Lecras, he was genuinely good small forward. 12 goals v essendon
The farking Frenchie
I wasn’t a hater. Just a non believer.
It’s got to be credit where it’s due. Many weren’t high on him, but performances talk volumes. You get good quality possessions, kick goals, or create for others and how can anyone complain.
They’ve pumped 40 career games into him, he should be showing results by now. Maybe he proves everyone who doubted him wrong and keeps going on this trajectory.
He’s also only 22, so he’s the right age for showing some faith. I’ve bagged him previously, but will also say don’t mess with success.
Best benefit for us is, if other clubs focus on Menzie, then Gresham or Kako can get off the leash. If they are all dangerous, is makes us a better side.
We just lack dangerous key forwards, was happy with Caddy’s 2 goal return and Drapers early form up forward.
I’m imaging Wright coming in this week - but playing 40/60 ruck with Draper giving both of them decent time on ball and forward.
With good supply and weak opposition wouldn’t be surprised if Wright comes out and kicks 5+
I’ve been perfectly happy with Gresham this year too. Goal a game, getting possessions more around 20 along with higher tackle count after a slow start the first 2 games.
Kako, Menzie and Gresham seem to be gelling well.
He also played pretty well against Port, is a good user and clearly the coaches like his running
Im happy for Jye. I was a fan in 23, thought he did really well. Last year hopefully was the outlier, explained by injury perhaps. Lets hope he has a good run and makes it, seems like a great kid.
When someone says that they mean the opposite.
I’ll be convinced if he averages 4 goals a week.
I don’t want to think it let alone say it but geez he looked comfortable playing back in Adelaide.![]()
If he kicks 2 goals a game I will be convinced.
He had a game, good on him.
Let’s see if he can build confidence from that and make it more regular.
We all want Davey to succeed, but the idea that Davey has all this untapped potential, while Menzie has no scope for improvement is a Blitz theme. Menzie played a very strong season of footy two years ago, and last year couldn’t lift his arms above his shoulders. Davey has played a couple of decent games in his career.
Jesse Hogan won the Coleman last year with a 3 goal average.
The first guy I’d consider an equivalent small forward in 2024 was Stengle, he got 46 in 25 games. Less that 2 a game.
If Menzie gets a 2 goal average he’s killing it.
Unfortunately you speak the truth. A couple of years of watching Davey should have nobody convinced he’s going to make it as an AFL footballer. He blows marks, fumbles endlessly, and doesn’t keep the ball locked in the forward line.
Maybe he puts it together, but I don’t see it happening. They already cut their losses with the other Davey.
What? You think I’d be disappointed to see Menzie succeed and kick 35-40 goals in a season?
