Former #32 Travis Colyer

He also missed a reasonably easy shot on goal late in the piece. Scores were tied, even a point would have been super handy but he missed the lot.

Oh well. I still think he'll come good.

I reckon his kicking was pretty good this year.

Except for that absolute shocker in the defensive 50, Freo game with 2 minutes to go.
I reckon that kick broke at least 5 remote controls in Essendon supporting homes.

Yes, I do remember that. I nearly died.
I thought it was an intentional pass to Jake? *
*Allegedly

I know "that" kick was a shocker.  But his good well outweighed his bad this year.

I used to consider Trav an easy delisting.  But this year he made excellent progress.  He certainly has value as a substitute.  The question now is whether he can have an impact right from the first bounce against the better sides.

Suddenly I'm trying to squeeze him onto the interchange of the best 22 because I think we desperately need his speed.  As others have discussed, that does push out one of our good midfielders.  Fun times.  Good luck to the little fella.

Last chance or he is traded or delisted.

Do you realise they gave him 2 years?

My knock on Colyer is that he played rounds 15-19.
In some of those games he was the sub, but he still managed to average 15 disposal a game. However he only managed 1 tackle in each of four of the games and zero tackles in the other.
A player of his type should be making more tackles than that. So while he still needs to concentrate on his kicking he really needs to work on his defensive game.

Not sure if its been mentioned already, but Trav knocked back a 3 year offer on better coin from another club to stay with us.

Melbourne ? good on Trav for stickin fat, hope he can cement a spot in the best 22 next year.

I'm surprised his tackling numbers are so low. Do you genuinely think he's soft or doesn't work hard enough defensively? Certainly not my impression, was a bit hard to work out his exact role a lot of the time as sub but maybe they wanted him more outside or something

Trav is the anti kommer, gets the pill and kicks goals but doesn’t tackle

Really? This is honestly news to me. IMO he's always been pretty decent on the tackling front, at least in mindset & chasing without being Heath Hocking exactly

i was taking the ■■■■. truthfully trav defensive work rate is not something i have ever given a lot of thought, probably because he often plays as a sub and is asked to run lines rather than press hard.

Wonderful team lifting goal in the last quater. His pace was handy throughout the game & ball delivery by foot was much better. Well done Trav.

So pleased he played well. Exactly what we need.

He would have had 100% efficiency by foot. Was excellent last night

Mr 100%

Great game. Can't fault it and pleased for him.  But obviously needs to back it up next week with a good game. That's the key - one or two good games followed by poor games is where we fail to progress towards becoming a genuinely competitive side.
