Former #33 Alwyn Davey Jnr

How would anyone know what he did after his brother was delisted. Brad put a line through him on the same day,.

This is still another Davey boy and girl !

Wonder if they are at school in Melbourne ?

I always remember watching him running around at Marvel for a game prior to the draft. Thought to myself, what do we see in him?

Because he was bog average and his only weapon appeared to be running around the ground and picking up the odd possession.

Still was hopeful the twins would work out and be an exciting duo in the forward line for us. Ended up being quite the opposite sadly.

I think he peaked in game one. Had several good tackles, and he used that aggression up early.

Unfortunate the Daveys didn’t become players, but it is what it is. Can’t all be Ashcroft or Daicos bros I guess.

What I saw in him was a player that, with ball in hand, could reasonably execute what he wanted to do (except for when in front of goal). Plus he had speed.

As opposed to most of our side who love the dump kick, and would get hunted down by a lame tortoise.

Looked more like a winger than Jones ever will.

Having said all that, I’m not surprised by the delisting. I am surprised by the lack of development.

Bang on.

No idea if he makes it elsewhere or not but for Brad to not give him a game given some of the players being gifted games this year was utterly ridiculous.

He was the winger one of the twins wasn’t he? Jayden the actual forward.

And they both never got to play in those positions in the ones. Don’t think the tanks were there.

The guy was so outta his depth the first 2 years, kept getting selected for the seniors somehow. This year in the vfl he was nowhere near as soft, doesn’t even get a look in all year then delisted. Makes no sense whatsoever the handling of him.

A good kick and the fastest player recorded in Australia during a game in his draft year, but mismanaged development. Now all the aboriginal guys recruited in brads first year are gone, i was excited at the time by the influx, it’s very disappointing.

Although I delisted him last year in my mind, I found it strange he wasn’t afforded a fair well game.

What if Alwyn didn’t take his program seriously? Didn’t follow his diet properly? Wasn’t hitting any of his KPIs? Why should any coach give any player an opportunity of playing at the AFL if they are not living or demonstrating the standards set by the club? Menzie ultimately lacked talent but I’d say he gave it a real crack off the pitch and we all know that Shiel is/was as professional as they come. I’m not sure Alwyn did so the coach said you’re not playing.

He certainly looked unfit and overweight this year IMO

Who knows what the story is, jt would be a bit rich to pick and choose like that when there plenty of others in the team who might be eating right that refuse to defend or rehab correctly

There might be. But there might not be either and as a player who was playing for a contract that would be pretty dumb of him to neglect that area knowing it would almost certainly cost him opportunity and ultimately his career. It looks like it has now.

Probably off to Port Melbourne.

I was excited on draft night when we drafted both of the boys. The idea of twins playing in the same team has some charm to it. I was really looking forward to watching the boys link up with some dazzling play for a goal. But alas……
