Jayden was recovering from injury in 2023 for memory and didn’t even play VFL.
In 2024 he played 18 games before being delisted. He averaged 6 kicks, 3 handballs, 2 marks, 1 tackle and 1 goal per game.
Last year he was injured again. Played 3 games. Averaged 4 kicks, 4 handballs, 2 marks, 3 tackles and 1 goal per game.
He didn’t play in round 1 for Frankston. Not sure whether he player in lower leagues that week.
First game back, had 9 kicks, 3 handballs, 4 marks 3 tackles and 5 goals. Good job and good on him. He’s still got a long way to go.
For reference…
His 3 tackles was only matched (or beaten) twice in the 18 games he played for us. If he keeps that up, he’ll find himself on a list.
First step is to actually get through 10 games without getting injured.
This isn’t a ‘we farked up moment’ yet.

I agree our indigenous program is horrible and it’s something I despise because I am indigenous and watching guys like long and Rioli made me love the club.
I’d say walla was one we did ok with though

How old was froggy when we drafted him?

As I recall, in his final year, after being gifted games he didn’t deserve in previous years but steadily improved over those years, and also after having developed a fully adult body before that last year and showing good signs in the twos, he didn’t get a single game in the firsts.
One of Brad’s tactical decisions I guess.

He’s played 1 good game in the VFL.
Let’s not get carried away about him “performing”.
(1) in all likelihood he wasn’t (and isn’t) good enough to warrant those chances.
(2) if that’s the argument for keeping him on the list we might as well pluck Shane Harvey and Gary Moorcroft out of retirement.

May as well delist Robey and Farrow instantly, neither have played a game yet, and don’t deserve wasting more time on.
Remember those Sheedy days when it seemed that half the Team was indigenous boys.
Some of the best footy ever.
When I was a kid my Mum used to take me to the footy, she was a mad North Melb supporter, so for a few seasons went to more Kangas games tham Bombers. Best player ever for me then was a bloke named Bert Johnson at North, he showed the skills that made many other indigenous players famous. Only played 30 games and was treated badly by his Club and supporters.

Hardly a kid, arrived at Bombers when he was 27.
I could argue we mismanaged him by recruiting him and giving him a game.

(1) the chances he didn’t warrant aka he wasn’t worthy of chances and his form post-delisting would support that.
(2) both those guys “fill a need” and aren’t AFL standard . . . So basically the same as Davey then.
The kid barely averages double digit possessions, a goal and a tackle a game in the VFL. If that’s filling a need on our list then good lord we are in an even worse state than I thought.
