The obvious comparison with Voss is Ambrose. Didn’t do spectacular things at AFL level, but made us a better team. If Voss builds his tank, I can see him making a similar contribution. Remember Ambruise didn’t debut until his mid-20s.
Paul Cousins thoughts from the sash podcast on VFL.
Patty Voss - was playing deep forward with Stuz.
He was terrific vossy, one of his better games in second half of the year. He was commanding took several strong grabs, really strong in the contest. He was happy to throw the weight around. went in to help out a young team mate whilst not losing his head. That controlled aggression something he has been striving for all year and he did that really well.
kicked a couple goals could have had a couple more had some that just missed, it was pretty blowy, tough night to kick goals.
a couple free kicks against that might have gone either way or no call, a bit too strong like Stuz.
He only kicked 2 in the end but it was a better game than that reads, I thought he played really well.
Stuzza worth keeping on list next year now healthy. Good clubman, key forward option, offers leadership and missing guys in that age bracket.
Baldwin and Bryan to go close in the B&f (Baldwin best key defender in VFL always in the bests)
From VFL listed guys Fitzgerald been great might be a smoky to be picked up. Cootee been good for B&f too
Lord has showed plenty in the second half of the year including the weekend, 24 disposals on the weekend one of his better games.
Improvements for VFL. keep VFL list together who are a young group, and add talent too.
4 byes in a 18 round season is too much.
maybe go in a couple of conferences. hard to work around AFL too.
@Paul_Cousins i can’t help but think that this club needs to win a VFL flag before we’re any chance of winning AFL flags. We’ve completely lost the culture we had in the 80s and 90s now, there’s no organizational memory for winning. Thoughts?
He already looks more built than half the team
Sorry Vossy. Looks like you’re gone, mate.
Yep, clear as day Scott doesn’t rate him at all. Hope he goes to another club and absolutely kills it. He won’t get a fair shot of it at Essendon
Honestly why not just give him a go? There is literally nothing to lose.
Would’ve been nice to see him belt Ginnivan or Sidearse in his 1 and only game.
Hope he finds a team he can tear it up in.
He will, someone will grab him straight away.
Doutta Stars?
A forward who shows aggression and kicks goals. Nah no room for that in this side
Nope, Hawforn or Norf.
Poor bloke. Busted his balls and most likely traded or delisted.
I so hope if he goes to another club he comes out and kicks a big bag against us and turns to the Essendon coaches box and gives them the 2 finger salute
Thanks for the memory.
I don’t, I hope he works on his game, shows perseverance and has a long and successful career at EFC.
Bringing in Weed and snelling, so clearly his tanking
The only hope I have is that Scott rates him, but he is just giving him time to build in VFL while working on his game.
