Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

There is a lot to like about him. Still seems a bit raw but he has enough that you would like to see him get a chance at AFL.

Almost Comically big for an 18 year old.
Definitely showing great signs

Voss, Baldwin and Hobbs are going to make the team a lot harder in future years.

And the supporters.

Clearly something going on with the name Patrick.

Voss, Ambrose for us. Dangerfield, Cripps.
Solution to our size issues is just draft more Patrick’s.

*Not interested in hearing about any small Patrick’s in the AFl, clearly changed their names after birth to try and fool clubs.

SEND HIM IN TO DESTROY THE RACIST TEX

He spent a little bit of time in the midfield today. Including a centre bounce or two……

Did someone say Big Bodied Mid?

Was discussing tonight with a group of Bombers supporters how we just don’t have any tough or intimidating players. We need more like Voss oh how we dream of the 2000 backline.

What I want for Xmas is an Essendon where young promising players are developed expertly and grow consistently each year to reach their full potential.

I honestly think we stop training and developing our guys once they hit 21 as so many seem to start out alright before suddenly hitting the wall.

I think the problem is that we let mid-career under performers hold their positions on thr field, and then let the young high potential recruit spend 5 year out of his natural position. Then we wonder why they havent become in the AFL what they were as a junior.

Isn’t he part Maori. No wonder he’s a big unit. I would purely select players based on their endeavour and Voss makes the cut. Chuck him in the midfield and he can throw a few AA’s around. I want a tough Essendon not a nice Essington.

Is there any evidence he can actually play midfield or are we just putting him there cos he’s “tough”?

Reminds me of Jonathan Brown.

Plays physical.

Very raw, Lots to like.

Not a lot of evidence, but he did play a bit of midfield this week.
Was in for 1-2 centre bounces as well.

Draft profile suggests he played pretty much everywhere growing up.

Agility probably the biggest question mark.
