Former #39 Patrick Voss - false messiah

That he was an undersized key forward with poor hands was also a factor. Played 28 VFL games and averaged 4.4 marks/game. Never got more than 8 marks (which he managed twice).

And that said, I still would’ve rather have him on the list than Weideman this season…

lets not forget the ■■■■ show that is the vfl team (that’s not meant as an offence to the guys who are down there, moreso the club and how they’ve run it) and it’s not as if voss was sitting in geelong’s afl forwardline and not doing it, he was getting those numbers with a patched up park footballers running around in the vfl side most weeks, no one in our forwardline down there was exactly setting the world on fire.

Hell caddy wasn’t exactly kicking bags and taking a ■■■■ ton of marks this year down there, yet still got given a go based on future output.

pretty much they didn’t like him cos he was a party boy, were never going to give him a go and see if they could tame that aspect of him if given an incentive to do so, they just saw him as a problem they didn’t want to deal with.

We can’t tolerate that ■■■■.

Better clubs can, they’ve got high performance culture and they can manage a small group of blokes who perform and party.

We’ve clearly got a small core of the list who have AFL lifestyles and a large group that don’t, the more we can do to build that small core the closer we are to getting out of the doldrums.

A fringe AFL player with bad lifestyle habits? Axe.
