Heās clearly taller and faster and a better kick than almost all of us as well. Now the 18th draft in a row that Iāve missed out on, and Iām beginning to wonder if my AFL career will even get off the ground at all.

I liked what I saw there. Some nice marks for a tall. Some run and carry, prepared to chase and tackle. Nice long kick. Speculative pick but thereās a bit to work with for sure.

This is exactly what the rookie list should be used for. High upside talent that needs development.
Weāve complained about dropping guys to the rookie list. This is a pure raw rookie selection that fits our needs.

Townsend comparison isnāt necessarily a bad thing - if he can play 50 games including a flag, that would be huge.

Its definitely the one that has me scratching my head. Doesnāt seem to fit needs at all. Iām not really sure what he is either, beyond āutilityā.
But any rookie is a long shot so not too fussed. Its definitely the space to take long shot options.

I think he is a genuine 3rd tall but can be a factor at ground level which we often lack up forward. We donāt want Jones to constantly have to be the pressure forward as a tall.

Townsend, waterman and now this guy. Truck and Cara like physicallity and strength up forward.
Itās not a knock on him at all, there is a specific role in the team for it.
