Former #40 Will “Snello” Snelling

Doesn’t do token chases (runs hard defensively). Works hard and seems to throw his body into the contest despite being undersized. But im still not sure about him

Top ten in the B’n’F is great reward for somebody that works harder than everyone on the list.

Great reward for persistence.

Considering the level of skill and possessions- remarkable outcome!

I’m a fan always busting a gut by laying a tackle or crashing in

Agreed. Was also only one of 5 players to play every game this year, along with Ridley, Saad, Parish & Walla.

He’s played pretty much every game, he’s still early 20’s and just finished top 10 in the best and fairest, he’s getting a new contract.

I’d keep him this year.

Yeah will get another contract the coaches like what he brings to the team

Can he stick a tackle against anyone bigger than him which is 95% of the comp, and can kick a goal over 40. Not a huge loss if he goes

He’ll be resigned for at least 1 year and probably too.

Plays his role. He is the least of.our worries.

He is a better option than a 4tybrounder which is who we’d be replacing him with

I’m not worried about his tackling and kicking. They’re good enough (even though not great). He desperately needs to improve his handballing. He has to just about be the worst handball in the league

Rather we move him on for another draft pick & put time into youngsters that have more upside.
He’s your classic vanilla, has no real weapons, is insignicant in the air when we ultimately bomb it forward and he’s not particularly quick. We had a look, top 10 only because it was a participation award this year, move on.

Agree. I actually think his skills are pretty good, but his hand balling needs a lot of work. Hopefully he works on it over summer

It would be an astounding decision not to.
Particularly after Dylan Clarke got a 2 year deal last year.

To me he looks to handball too quickly.

Sides have gotten very good at chopping down the angles, when you’re his size you need to be on the move (laterally or forward) to open up some of those angles.

Easily gets a 2 year contract. Easily.

To me, we delist him or 1 year max.

He’s done enough for at least a year. I dare say he’d be pro-Truck. I like him. He has a crack.

Must say that I find it amazing that he was ninth in the top 10 ahead of Shiel.
Although Shiel’s disposal was off at times he certainly was a much much better player than Snelling

My problem with him is that he isn’t overly skilled, isn’t overly quick and doesn’t find a heap of the ball.

Now if he was 186-190cm bull, you could argue his presence, but he doesn’t have any of that.

I’m not a hater by any means, but if we are going to rebuild, we need to get some more size and aggression into the team. He isn’t better than the others around his height, so he’d be the one to go.
