Might be able to kick like Coleman…ooh yeah

He’s not even in the same ballpark of quality like Houli. Ridiculous comparison.

At the end of our season, I sat down and had a think about our list and how many un-tradable players we had. The list was fairly short, and Mass definitely wasn’t on the list, so i’m not too fussed by this. The list needs serious work, and this is part of it. We should have turfed more old guys too, but that’s a different argument.

Very disappointed, he showed glimpses and moments in a small sample size where he looked a million bucks.

So young still, weve let one go here.

Agreed. I think we were all a bit sour grapes about Bachar leaving because we clearly wanted him to stay but unfortunately the damage had already been done. He had his issues defending his opponent but his footy IQ was miles ahead of Mass.

Massimo has a ball watching problem and gets caught out of position regularly. He also isn’t great in the contested situation either. Offensively he’s a neat kick but he’s hardly Daniel Rich or K. Coleman who can absolutely cut you up with their ball use.

Unless he improves his weaknesses dramatically or reinvents himself I think he’s a marginal chance of making the grade. Might be a little bit disappointed we can’t give him another year but I think the club might be feeling okay about this one.

He is the type hawthorn traditionally love from the back half. I little bit of the Durea’s about him

The people on here reducing this to oh he’s just a little sook can’t deal with Coach Badass at the helm and doesn’t want to put the effort in - cope harder.

The culture of this club is in the gutter and the club has seen zero success in actual decades, the fact that there are not mass walkouts at the moment despite what Brad may be trying to fix or fixing so far is a miracle.

Most AFL players have a short career, so if a player gets offered an opportunity at another club where they might have more opportunities or where the culture isn’t going to take the next half decade to maybe get on track, then they should run towards those opportunities.

There is nothing ungrateful about that you nerds.

So future 6th rounder?

Edit: Houli was 10 times better when
he left us.
Edit: Hibberd was 10 times when he left us.
Edit: Saad was 15 times better when he left us.

Whatever kate pick we get, we should be pushing for a '24 pick

Colyer was traded for a future 4th and on a 3 year deal, so I believe that would be the best we could hope for in a trade. The reality is I think we will see a swap of 4th round picks for Massimo

Houli was a 2s player for us, with a great kick, who left for a better offer and because of, in most people’s opinion unfair treatment he received from the coach.

Not saying Mass will ever be as good as Houli, but obviously big similarities here

He will make it, he has the talent we didn’t develop him properly.

Can see him running the ball out of their defence and laser left boot there ball ala Houli fashion sigh

I think I am feeling somewhat uneasy now about this years treatment of some of the young guys. Just keep thinking about North Melbourne and what went on there.

You can’t blame him for making a decision that is clearly in the best interests of his career. Hawthorn seem to rate him higher than we do, and have offered him an extra year. It would’ve been a pretty easy decision for him.

the older i get the more I realise that there is not a single player that is untradeable. End of the day we have got nowhere with these players. club always bigger than an individual.

If a player wants out, we should always try to maximise what we can get for them. Its rare that you retain a player, and it has a happy ending

Worth 2 year contract though? I thought he had alot of upside

Only now? It was pretty apparent during the season, and glaringly obvious the longer it went.
