farken awesome final scene

Wannabe: you’re wrong about Shae.

tyrion is a farken boss

Tyrion's scenes were great, show has missed him so much this season.
Also they should've just cut the Greyjoys out completely from this show, Theon was a waste of time all last season and the LETS CRAM EVERYTHING INTO FIVE MINUTES scene was ordinary. I will avenge my brother! Oh wait ... they have a dog. Nevermind.
Book spoiler question:
Vary's is involved in Tyrion's escape so why did he testify against him again? I can't recall.
ALSO A BOOK SPOILER
From memory, Jamie cornered Varys and threatened to kill him if he didn't help Tyrion.
Book and show
I'm guessing testified just so down the track he didn't look like a sympathiser...
book spoiler
i thought he testified against him because he had to get him found guilty so he was moved into a place to await sentencing. From their Varys could help him escape?
Don't read this unless you've read the books, massive spoiler here for the show too:
Well if he wasn't found guilty he wouldn't need help escaping... but everyone is a ■■■■ in Varys' game so maybe Varys wants to help T escape somewhere, and didn't want him dead or sent to the Wall (which he probably overheard)
Wannabe: you're wrong about Shae.

Really?

ok, I just checked and you are right. I'd completely forgotten about that testimony, it surprised the hell out of me when I saw it in the show - and Ive read the books twice lol. Ive edited my previous post...

The most epic of book spoilers:
Something I never bothered to look up was who the hell was with Varys in the last scene of the last book, is that Dany's brother? Cousin? Half-something?

I really liked the scene in the last episode of Varys looking at the throne, it was a nod to MUCH later future events, unless they're going to bring that scene way forward.
Might as well have a GOT book thread too. I can’t read anything in here!

Wannabe - thanks very much for the summary... very interesting!   This last episode was probably the best of the season.

Re the question by someone about the Starkless episode...  yes, I read somewhere that this was indeed the first episode without at least Jon representing the Starks.  I think they mentioned there was one episode in the first season that only had Eddard in it.
I don't recall anyone with Varys in the last scene of ADWD, he only mentions Aegon who is Dany's brother
epic book spoiler, from the last book
Aegon is Dany's nephew. Dany was Rhaegar's (and Viseryon's) sister, Aegon is Rhaeger's (and Elia of Dorne's) son.

Well depending who you believe. Oberyn is ■■■■■■ with the Lannisters because they had the Mountain kill Aegon around the time of the sacking of KL. But apparently Aegon was switched with another (Blackfyre) child by Varys, and it was the other child who was killed and not Aegon, so Aegon lives.

But Aegon might not be who we (or he, or Griff) thinks he is, it could all be bullshit, and he might just be the Blackfyre child. Dunno.
Oh, also Riolio, in answer to your first question: (again, do not read unless you want the last page of the last book)
Aegon wasn't in the room with him, just some of his 'little birds'.

As above, I'm going to spoil the ■■■■ out of the book
Because he was never actually on trial. Well, not really, he was going to be found guilty no matter what was said by who.

I thought Varys realised this and set about a way to help him. If he went on trial and said "Tyrion didn't do it" Tyrion would still be found guilty and Varys would look suspect for assisting him. He'd basically bring on the wrath of Cercsei and Tywin for no gain.

By providing the "evidence" he did he gets the same result but can help Tyrion escape.

I thought this was in the book?? I can't remember, maybe I made all this up in my head lol
There are so many plots, sub plots, characters etc that it's hard to keep up...I too have read the books and I was discussing possible future events in the next few episodes with a mate today and I had completely forgotten a fairly major part of what is to come

The Peter Dinklage Show

after a length discussion on the identity of john snow's mother mrs ivan decided should couldn't be arsed reading the books again but wanted to start re-watching season 1. I'd forgotten how much time danny spends with her kit off.
