Then Mcgrath Perkins and Langford entered the game - fumbled, panicked, chose poor options, and missed simple kicks. Geelong pile on 3 goals. Must be so deflating for the youngsters.

It makes it so hard to hang in a game when they just cough up easy goals. Redman coughed one up as well.

we have this odd thing going where usually when you get towelled up you at least see the other team playing decent footy. but we somehow drag the other team down into the vortex of attrociousness with us, thus making the game bad to watch for everyone.

Our games all seem to follow the same(ish) trajectory.

• Competitive early but fail to capitalise on opportunities.
• Eventually the opposition break though and start piling on the goals almost unopposed.
• Rally late to limit the damage.

I assume it’s our level of experience and inability to maintain intensity / effort. Plus opposition teams switching off a bit.
