Having a look at the draft profiles there look to be plenty of players that’d fill needs for us around our first pick (I’m assuming it’s in the 10-15 range right?) and I’m kinda hoping we’re not planning to trade that pick away, I wouldn’t have thought the team is at that stage of development yet
With the AFL website reporting that the Bulldogs Kirsty Lamb is weighing up an offer from Port…
If she goes, we should make a play for Blackburn, and get in her ear that the Bulldogs will be ■■■■ for at least the next five years.
Blackburn and Toogood together again would be amazing.
Parker commits to GWS.
Footscray missed Morphett, and may lose Celine Moody to FCFC to further weaken their rucks stocks?
Ex-VFLW-Bomber Lauren Ahrens departing her native QLD for VIC?
Your club’s draft picks as of December 7, 2023
Essendon: 13, 33, 53, 71
(13 is VIC pick #8, though that distinction is much less important this year.)
Note that we have not yet reduced our list down to 27 players, as required before the draft.
My sister tells me that Maddi Gay is a close friend of my niece in Geelong.
Also that Maddi G’s grandad was a close friend of my uncle (1909-199) and a friend of my dad.
Maddi’s always been a mad Bombers fan.
ONE OF US!
Ash Riddell and Ella Roberts are the latest to sign new 4-year contracts.
AFL in the morning puts out a breathless article of 32 likely-ish moves… day one, nothing happens*.
*I’ve not been looking for moves, just looking at the lack of follow-up at the site and here.
When is the deadline for this, and how many need to removed?
Yes, I’m worried.
Ha, I’d knew you’d respond
We started with 30, have added Gaylor, might re-add Phillips, and have sacked/retired 3. So at least two on the chop (assuming we don’t net bring in more players before the draft) .
I think you’re trying to say (RE-)SIGN MARSHALL ALREADY.
That’s pretty impressive considering there have only been eight seasons.
Maddy is 4/6. Needs to win one of the next two seasons to equal her.
Pick 41, if she is ready to play again, is a bargain.
The commentary at the start of this past season was:
“The Club and Zimmorlei have come to the mutual decision for her to step away from the Club citing the demands of AFLW and elite level training,” she said.
“Zimmorlei is beginning an apprenticeship this year but will continue to stay in touch with the game by returning to support her local club Yeronga South Brisbane Football Club and the Queensland State League.
“Zimmorlei remains contracted to the Lions, and the Club and Zimmorlei will reassess at the completion of the 2023 AFLW season.”
Hopefully this address will track all changes:
Casey: EVERYONE IS FOR SALE!
The Hawk’s pick 5 is currently the second pick for a Victorian club, admittedly.
Straight sets exit and they’re selling the farm it seems.
