Agree, I wouldnât really be bothered if we donât get her
Sounds like weâll be parting with pick 13 as part of the moves to get Gay + Keaney
Iâve just learned the the Bears had an Ella Smith and a Bella Smith, and flogged them both off yesterday.
(There are/have been other Ella and Bella Smiths at other clubs, too.)
Trade confirmed.
Essendon get pick 72 and Bess Keaney from Gold Coast.
Gold Coast get pick 53 from Essendon
On Gay, these are the current picks held by the two teams:
Essendon: 13, 33, 71, 72
Melbourne: 5, 19, 26, 56, 74
The below may indicate the debate currently ongoing:
13+33 for Gay and 19 is probably about fair.
Iâm guessing Melbourne would want it to be Gay and 26.
With Cutting and Doonan delisted and Wuetschner retiring Iâm presuming we have 3 list spots available?
Gaylor, Keaney and potentially Gay would mean we would not need anyone else from the draft?
We also have Cat Phillips coming back donât we?
Phillips as noted, plus:
Each Club must make at least two selections in the AFLW Draft.
So there are delistings yet to come.
Doesnât look like Sydney and Newman were fans of each otherâŚ
Iâd follow that up with a joke about Verity and Lambert also not being fans of each other, but no one would get it.
Barba and Tierney delisted
The clubs involved are Adelaide, Brisbane, Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond, West Coast and the Western Bulldogs.
It will see Gabby Newton and Ash Brazill get to the Dockers, Montana McKinnon head to the Tigers, Katie Lynch and Charlotte Wilson to the Suns, Kirsty Lamb to the Power, Maddi Gay to the Bombers, Lauren Ahrens and Jasmyn Smith to the Dogs and Lily Johnson to the Demons.
A host of first-round picks in next Monday nightâs AFLW draft will also swap hands as part of the 11-club agreement.
Just move the VFL season to coincide or otherwise establish a reserves comp. The way it is now is stupid.
How are non-selected players supposed to get form? Watching them run a bunch of laps at the hangar canât be the best way.
There are weekly âscrimmagesâ but that is next to useless.
They donât play the style that the team plays, team continuity doesnât occur, etc.
They need to work out how to go from what they have now to what the ideal situation is (VFLW and AFLW playing at the same time.
The big problem at the moment is that VFLW plays more games and lasts longer than AFLW. AFLW needs to expand to more round before aligning with VFLW.
Unbelievable that you get 11 AFLW list bosses on the line and a resolution comes about.
Try that with just 3 AFL list bossesâŚ
I bet somewhere someone complained about Dodoro making it difficult.
