General Australian news

It is just a mess all round. Once the original decision to end ‘indefinite detention’ occurred, it was always going to be a very bumpy ride to a ‘tolerable’ solution.

By ‘tolerable’ solution, I mean something that the MSM and public will understand. But, alas, Rupert has made sure this isn’t going to happen.

Residential halls with a long history of being co-ed dont have regular instances of the sort reported in the above.

Generally I think you would find a lot less rape/sexual assault and a lot more consensual sex.

Co-ed colleges are a good idea.

Not that it erases poor behaviour, but it sure as puts a handbrake/social pressure to well stop it and learn from it.

I would imagine it also provides a safer environment for women to navigate socialising with a bunch of men in a healthy manner too.

And provide a safer spot for gay men. I mean I cant imagine single sex mens dorms to be that welcoming.

It’s so limited though. As I understand it, it only applies to deportees that their country of nationality/citizenship won’t take, or if they are Stateless.
It’s not satisfactory, but they have served their time and the danger to the community is no greater than our own criminals who have served their time.

ABC reporting 200 people in total, 150 subject to an ankle bracelet, 130 to curfew.
I imagine any sex offenders among them would be on the sex offenders register and any conditions attached to that arising from the conviction.
They are all probably unemployable, some may be in psychiatric care.
Meanwhile more tobacco wars in Melbourne, homes burnt out.

Ahhh the ACCC, the people who say they have the public’s welfare at heart but always does companies bidding.

Who’s the chair of the ACCC currently? Gina Cass-Gottlieb

Whats Murdoch got to do with a chemist merger?

Chemist Warehouse is cheaper than the rest of them.

International arrivals and departures at Tulla are disrupted by some Border Force exercise.
Is Border Force stopping people from leaving or arriving, or involved in herding a number of deportees for departure?
Or is it a drugs bust?

How deadset thick would you have to be to put one of these on your trolley as you walk around the supermarket.

I honestly don’t think it’s much different to the fly buys and everyday rewards in regards to marketing.
I actually think despite the fact the article suggests they increased spending by 6 percent I feel like it will help some people budget better whilst in the store

Its literally designed to increase impulse spending.

Buying things you didnt go into the grocery store for.

And they expect people to voluntarily put it on their shopping trolley. So they can use their flybuy data against you.

It’s the tech equivalent of placing the bread in the same isle opposite the confectionery.

Try getting down that isle with kids without impulse buying or the world’s biggest tantrum.

Good ol CBus. Once it all went online if I was a day late paying my boys super I would start getting reminders. But if we died we’d get ignored for up to 15 months. For the workers my arsenal.
