General Australian news

I love how petty and ■■■■■■ rival tabloids get when they miss out on a story.

Im not sure what’s more shocking

Someone’s been stabbed by a member of the public

Or that Coles has a 63 yr old employee.

My Coles is run by about 4 teenagers and a migrant security guard.

No. Bunnings divested Coles years ago.

The flaw in this argument is that it would cost them money which is anathema to them

The infatuation with deflecting away from the actual abhorrent crimes to whichever right wing shadow you wish to sook about is such a ■■■■ weak character flaw of far too many these days

Really ! Why the Fark would you blame politicians for a 13 year old stabbing someone ? My first question would be to Parents, then maybe Teachers and then anyone who knew him.

Law makers need to take stock of the current state of the system. The kids a psycho who recently caused horrific burns on a social worker, if my memory serves me correctly, by throwing boiling hot milk on her:

It’s like all of these kids conducting aggravated assaults , car jackings and home invasions only to be let back on the ■■■■■■■ streets 14 minutes later to reoffend.

Then there’s a chorus of wankers accusing people of being right wings facists if they talk about the facts of this offending.

The politicians pander to who’s going to keep them in power and its now only that’s there’s a growing chorus of scared citizens taking to the streets to voice their concerns that perhaps their will be further law reform.

Agree that the parents are likely non existing or smoking shards somewhere but the courts have an obligation to the citizens to punish these evil ■■■■■■ accordingly and stop giving them countless soft warnings

Lib/Nats in qld ran on platform of tougher on crime. didn’t seem to have detered this.

What, specifically, should politicians do? Because you’re making broad statements about "pandering ". To whom? Who exactly doesn’t want a reduction in crime.

Nah it definetly must be this Albanese bloke.

Better get Peter Dutton in. He’s tough on crime

You see there’s no crime when the liberals rule.

Yep agree with that, but it is not up to Politicians or Governments to tell Courts what to do. Mandatory sentencing does not work, and makes young offenders become hardened crims. The Court needs to ensure the community is safe by good sentencing guidelines.

not sure I blamed the politicians for the attack . my point was that Lnp got swept into power on youth crime , with this big idea of adult crime adult time, and didn’t include attempted murder as one of the crimes . I said nothing whatsoever about politicians being responsible

We need to talk about wrap around services, because for many kids who I was chasing when I was a cop, came from dysfunctional homes, poor socio-economic outcomes, etc.

Reportedly the boy has complex needs, lives in a care home. He didn’t enter with a knife, took one from the shelf at the supermarket.

Hopefully his needs are attended to in incarceration for the next few decades!
