Bruce Lehrmann is attending the Hobart Magistrates Court today for a delayed hearing on charges of stealing a motor vehicle (a 4WD) in southern Tasmania. A warrant for his arrest will be enacted if he fails to show.

Magistrate Webster told Mr Lehrmann that if he were to change his plea to guilty, he would have no conviction recorded against him, a 12-month good behaviour bond and $122 victims of crime levy.
“Thank you, I am very grateful,” Mr Lehrmann told the court before changing his plea.
No conviction recorded… Ffs.

I think these high profile cases are simply funded by the media.
I mean anything this guy does is front page news so to speak.
Drives clicks.
So his friend took his keys to stop him driving, he took a car that had keys in it supposedly thinking it was his friend’s (yeah ok). He was off his face. Small fine, no apparent punishment for dodging the hearing in the first place, no conviction. I guess if there’s no breath test he gets to keep his licence as well despite admitting he was ratshitt and could’ve killed people on the road? And playing the mental health card like a good polly. Dude needs a stint in Risdon. Because he’s a rapist, but also because he’s not learned anything and should have to confront his demons in the form of bad men with bad intentions, in a place with no freedoms and no big money people to bail him out.
Do the people in his party calling for adult prison terms for 13 year olds have a similar feeling about Bruce? Or does he deserve therapy, time, understanding about a troubled upbringing, and wrapping of arms around him?
