Convictions are a matter of public record.
One would assume they have been remanded until sentencing as they would pose a very real flight risk.

Yes - so it’s very strange it wasn’t. Maybe the judge was a sports fan ? Most including me already know the identity. Surely it gets published?
I can only assume that the lawyers immediately said they’d appeal and asked for the ban to be extended? But he’s going to be incarcerated in the meantime so I don’t get it. Found guilty. Surely that makes identity protection moot?

It doesn’t provide reasons but it seems the identity will be hidden until sentencing.

On consideration, I’ve deleted a few posts. Whatever the court reasonings, we don’t need to be sailing quite that close to the wind.

Why do we care who this scum or his family is ?
He has been convicted and hope he gets 10 years.
I think its the special treatment the accused seems to be receiving by not being named that is causing anger.
For what it’s worth, according to a legal mate who is in the know, the most commonly speculated name online is NOT true, and the real culprit is someone for which all the media coverage is stretching the definition of ‘high profile’ to its absolute limit. I personally don’t know the actual name of the guy, but be prepared for a lot of people asking ‘who TF is this??’ if/when the injunction is lifted.
