I ask because of recent bitter experience. I’m mostly over the standard bar being the size of a Redskin now, but I bought a bag of bite sized farkers and they’re now the size of 5c stamps. Yes this post makes me feel old.

I would settle for Iced Vovo’s going back to the lush thickness they were when I was a kid. Barely anything on them anymore and absolutely not worth buying. Arnotts is now owned by an American company that decided they could save a few cents on every packet by selling an inferior product.
We need an ACCC with teeth to get to the bottom of the enshitification of our once great treats.

Our sweet treats are now what they told us they’d be under a communist regime - unsatisfying, bland, diminished and sad. We’ve got communist sweet treats but no commune. AI will fix it.

Actually all Arnotts biscuits were on the downward spire before the current US acquisition in 2019, Campbell Soups bought them in 1997 and brought their Yankee ways into the business, but I reckon they were getting smaller and tasteless before that.
Back in the day, there were a number of smaller biscuit companies around Australia, and in Melbourne there was Swallows in Port Melbourne and Guests in Kensington. After Arnotts acquired them, the biscuit quality declined and this was probably 40 years ago.
Yanks would not know how to make a good biscuit,
We sold a shedload of QC equipment to the Arnotts factory in Western Sydney. Massive joint and you could eat all the biscuits you wanted. I did, until I did a tour of the factory checking out potential sites for our measurement sensors in production lines. We were kitted out in full sanitary gear, white overall, big white gum boots, head and beard covering. QC Engineer was showing me the process and I asked about the consistency of the cream mixture (that went into Monte Carlo biscuits) , so he lifts the lid on a 2000 litre mixing vessel and stuck in his hand to show me a sample. No glove, no washing hand, just raw hand into the cream that would be into the biscuits. Arnotts were off my menu, but I was very happy to take their money.
So it seems that the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion isn’t really all that interested in Social Cohesion after all.
How else do you explain the decision to exclude The Australia Palestine Advocacy Network from being able to appear before the Royal Commission?
Could it be that the findings have been found already?
