There are youth gangs running around following their 5th, 6th and 7th bail hearings for crimes they clearly commit…I’m tipping the phone book strategy would not work in 2025!
I have a lot of friends and family in law enforcement, they shouldn’t have to put up with this behaviour just because they are officers and its part of the job. I think the Kerr trial was likely a build up of years of officer abuse in the UK and to be honest I feel the result of this case has failed them. Its open slather now.
But that’s life these days. Poor behaviour has no consequences.
Hopefully some consequences in the UK. Certainly you can get away with anything in the US right now if you’re connected enough, and white and rich enough. If the force in the UK can’t eradicate it in its own ranks, high through low, then it’s hard to see it not being a factor in treatment of citizens.
“ Head of Britain’s police chiefs says force ‘institutionally racist’
Exclusive: Gavin Stephens becomes most senior serving officer to accept discrimination in policing operates at a ‘fundamental level’
Not sure it worked in the 1960s either but it was better than doing nothing.
Cops in UK who always been more precious and quicker with the boot than in Australia. A small woman calling a Cop white and stupid should never have gone to Court. Sam Kerr suffered some backlash for her actions, but now she is the hero and the victim.
If they had just let the media stay negative towards Kerr, the result would have been better for the Police.
According to UN OCHA, since 1 January, more than 2, 300 children in Gaza have been admitted as outpatients for severe malnutrition.
Some of the injured have been evacuated through the Rafah Crossing by Egyptian ambulances to elsewhere in the Middle East. The King of Jordan advised that Jordan could take up to 2k sick children.
Some, but not all, supplies are now getting in, including fuel and flour for bakeries. Some are enjoying the aroma and taste of fresh bread.

Some of the water and waste treatment plants have been repaired. UN demining teams are clearing land.
Aid agencies have provided water, food packages and latrines along the roads for the displaced who are walking a long way back to their homes, where tent shelters are being provided.
The UK cops have received criticism by the likes of Farrage and others for their ‘unfair’ treatment of the white protestors in the riots following the black kid killing children at the dance school. Shades of the 6 January protests in the USA .
As to the mass killing in Sweden, the majority of the victims were foreigners. The killer was identified as a Swede, a loner, no income, no job, no social media. He left school without a diploma and was rejected for military service.
Argentina is an economic basket case. It’s why Milei is there.
Thank god we haven’t had South American style inflation and currency devaluation.
Hes hard line and extreme but if he delivers a strong currency and an end to inflation which has plagued that country it’s probably the greatest gift he could give it.
It’s a very different kettle of fish to the US or here, but his approach, which has resulted in massive reduction of public services and a 53% poverty increase relies almost entirely on ongoing petrol/oil and agri exports.
He’s certainly more entertaining than Trump, Orban and the rest, but I wouldn’t be feeling great about where he’ll inevitably leave that country. Not that they’ve had a lot to feel great about prior either.
I think likely what he is doing is unfortunately necessary.
You don’t want your country to get to the point that it is - is the lesson.
Not that you could frame for example slashing the public service here to simply employ PwC or EY body farms to do the same at a higher rate as the same….because the work needs to be done.
Which is exactly what Dutton will do. Smoke and mirrors.
(And I’m not arguing it’s necessary. But these clowns all drink the same cool aid without thinking more moderately)
UN estimates that recovery and reconstruction in Gaza and the West Bank would cost around $53.2 billion, with Gaza accounting for most.

Egypt is working on a recovery plan with other Arab nations as a counter plan to remove Palestinians from Gaza.
