General World News

Politicians and authorities across Northern Ireland have pleaded for calm after two nights of “disgraceful” and violent protests, triggered by the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl.

The unrest that injured 15 police officers on the first night and 17 on the second has included rioters throwing petrol bombs, fireworks and bricks at homes and businesses in the town of Ballymena.

The violence erupted after the arrest of two teenagers, who have been accused of attempting to rape a young girl over the weekend. The pair, both aged 14, appeared in court on Monday local time where they asked for a Romanian interpreter.

Authorities would not confirm the ethnicity of the two teenagers accused of the rape, and they remain in custody. However, areas attacked in the past 48 hours included those where Romanian migrants live.

Do we really know that Iran have nuclear weapons/capacity, or is it just like war in Iraq?

Also known as the big bomb beautiful deal.

Who is ‘we’?

The general public may have doubt, others with more information may not have as much (when it comes to progression)

Who said they do have it?
It is about how far along in the process of getting it they are and stopping them from doing so (from a US/Israel perspective).

I just flew to Europe over this area 2 days ago. I was a little ‘wtf?’ At the time. I gotta come back that way soon. Hopefully no itchy trigger fingers.

It’s such an interesting situation from a purely non emotive pov.

Where is the international law that says that Iran (or any other non nuclear arms owning country) cannot build such a weapon?

It reminds me of the old civilization games where you get threatened cause you have NUCLEAR WEAPONS. As soon as you have them you can’t be pushed around so easily. India and Pakistan are perfect examples.

I think you’ll find your answer here.

NEW: Senior Advisor to Iran’s Supreme National Council Claims Iran Has Obtained Trove of Israeli Intelligence Documents

A trusted media advisor to Iran’s top security body has posted details of what Iran alleges to be a massive Israeli intelligence breach — including nuclear secrets, internal Mossad files, and blackmail material allegedly used by Netanyahu’s office.

➤ The claims have yet to be verified and the documents have yet to be released for public review
➤ But the source — a known media proxy — is often used by Iranian authorities to release sensitive information before official acknowledgment

According to the thread, Iran now possesses:

  1. Israel’s full four-year nuclear development roadmap — including plans for military nuclear facilities, infrastructure, and technical processes

  2. Classified details on U.S. weapons imports to Israel, along with storage locations

  3. Records of large bribes paid to four prominent Arab figures to support the Abraham Accords

  4. Complete intelligence profiles of 23 senior Israeli spies, including their contacts across the region

  5. Personal data of 6 million users across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram

  6. Sensitive infrastructure data on Israeli electricity, water, telecom, postal, transport, and healthcare systems

  7. Files on 400,000 legal cases, including criminal, judicial, police, and intelligence-related cases

  8. Detailed information on Israeli prisons and prisoners, including charges and classifications

  9. Personal files on Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife — covering medical records, legal complaints, bribery allegations, and threats used to silence accusers

  10. Six 4-terabyte hard drives and 1,720 pages of secret documents from Netanyahu’s private office

  11. Portions of the Mossad’s classified archives

  12. Private surveillance data on Netanyahu’s political opponents, including hidden cameras placed in their homes and hacked data from their phones and laptops, allegedly used for blackmail

  13. Thousands of high-resolution aerial images of Israeli cities, ports, and key infrastructure

  14. Over 40,000 hours of CCTV footage from secure political, military, and government sites

  15. A banned recording of a heated Knesset debate involving Netanyahu, reportedly erased from official Israeli archives

Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty. ( Israel isn’t).
From time to time Iran has been found by the IAEA to be non compliant.
The IAEA site is informative.
Grossi of the IAEA has had some engagement in the US Iran talks. US and Iran disagree on the level of Iran’s nuclear enrichment ( connected to its capacity to become a nuclear power).

There is a pretty solid chunk of information about Iran’s nuclear weapons program. They haven’t been quiet about it, if anything they’ve been publicising the efforts as a geostrategic lever to get other goals.

Interesting timing

There is some confusion in reporting on the UNSC sanctions on Iran (binding on all UN member States) and sanctions applied by individual Member States.
As to what is described as the findings of the UN nuclear watchdog, to note that the findings were by vote of the members of the IAEA Board.
ADD
The 35 members of the IAEA Board comprise 22 members elected by the IAEA General Conference and at least 10 members nominated by the outgoing Board.
The findings of the IAEA Board are not legally binding on IAEA members, but individual members are free to adopt them.

Looks like it’s kicking off.

Yes it has begun. Videos online showing explosions in Iran and now also Iraq.
Iran has fired back too, hence the sirens in Israel.
