General World News

Watching BBC news channel and 2 scandal stories were presented. I’d heard about them previously, but didn’t really take note.

At least it’s not just our government that has overseen such heartless scandals and responses to them.

■■■■■■■ politicians. They are ■■■■■.

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the Srebenica genocide, in which more than 8, 000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed.

I’ve actually run out of words trying to describe the bosses and govts who enabled the Post Office scandal to occur. Scumbags is as best as I can get passed the filter.

People have suicided, broken marriages and trail of broken people who were all farked over by a computer system, their employers and the govt.

Did you miss wimms excellent combo word posts? Words like Arsehats or Dickwads come to mind.

I chuckled at this posts. In this instance though that language was not strong enough.

Yeah, “asshead” had me in tears.

The blood scandal is just as bad. They stopped paying support to some victims because they would get compensation, maybe, in the future. Same goes for victims carers.

Also set a cutoff date of infection of 1982 to be eligible for compensation when a lot of people were infected prior to that. Many were just cutoff from support.

These were all their governments, both Tory and Labor, that implemented changes going against recommendations from previous independent inquires.

And to top it off, government members were cheering in parliament that the inquiry recommendations should be implemented.

It was their government that didn’t follow the recommendations in the first place.

Despicable.

I really need to stop watching, reading or listening to any news regarding politicians.

The infected blood scandal is probably not as widely known (there was a mini series on the post office scandal, right?), but it is equally disturbing if not moreso.

Several thousands of UK blood product recipients have died of attributable HIV or hepatitis C. Hepatitis B wasn’t even considered eligible for compensation (despite definitely being a risk, albeit much lower due to a range of factors) until a handful of years ago.

Even among survivors there will have been some significant suffering. Early treatments for HIV and hepatitis C had some pretty severe side effects.

Yep. And they have tried to exclude compensation to those with treatment side effects.

I hadn’t heard too much about the blood scandal, I’ll do so more reading.

The Post Office scandal only gained real traction, after the mini series was started. That’s when the action really started, but some are still waiting on an apology and/or compensation.

I honestly didn’t know details or the hostory of either scandal until tonight.

Only really became aware as I saw the BBC and parliament discussions on these stories tonight.

Looking into it further is just triggering me more. I’m going to stop now.

I’ll phrase carefully, but the best take I’ve heard is it’s amazing how much attention governments are giving to words by rappers while giving a pass to those they are chanting about for things way, way worse than words.

They get away with ■■■■ like this, then they get voted out for others that do the same ■■■■ who then get voted out.

Rinse. Repeat.

Well, if the FBI follow their historical procedures they’ll immediately suspect him of having a hero complex and starting the floods to make himself look good.
