He will get it done. Money always talks.
The replies to his post are gold.
Has Elon pumped any money into Twitter? I’m not sure where the money is coming from. I can’t see many people wanting to join Twitter now unless it’s for stupid money.
Nobody left to write the job add, nobody left to run the recruitment, no one left to interview, no manager when you turn up day 1. Nobody to handover your role, No onboarding. Nobody left to input your bank details into the payroll system so you even get paid.
They have a bunch of people that couldn’t leave because of the job being tied to their visa. That will be predominantly Software engineers. They will have close to zero head office staff left.
Fish and chip shop analogy looking better and better.
US companies are December year ends(ie 6 weeks away) love to see that financial reporting and audit. Half the docs will be missing, no body left who knows how anything complex gets calculated and all their financial controls are now broken because they don’t have enough staff to run them properly.
Will be an absolute shitshow.
Half your passionate workforce walking out and then headhunting people on good $$$ is never a good business model. Those who are headhunted will just coast and take what they can until they inevitably walk to a better workplace or are sacked.
Half all ready went two weeks ago.
75% of the rest all just walked out because they were offered 3 months redundancy.
Yup, its over for Twitter.
Sad. Twitter is a flawed and problematic place, but it is also an extraordinary news sourcing tool if used well. It has massive impact in spreading information and democracy. Don’t think there’s anything that can replace it in the short term.
i think this was Musk’s plan all along.
I can’t imagine he spent $44 Billion to completely blow it up.
You can replace staff, you can’t replace expertise and experience.
Twitter is circling the drain. It could go down with zero warning any day now, and once it does, I don’t think they have enough knowledgable people around any more to bring it back. The only reason it hasn’t died already is that they have a code freeze in place, but pretty soon, inadequate maintenence etc is going to catch up with them regardless. There’s already a few glitches here and there. The canaries in the coalmine are starting to cough.
A weird but good side effect for me, I follow Aston Villa and normally can’t see their vids as they are geoblocked, not anymore …
Twitter is toast. Musk seemingly on a commercial suicide mission. What a fool .
He’s either done this on purpose, or he’s really, really stupid. Actually both of those things could be true.
Hopefully he buys CNN next.
