Ryder said if the saga had been settled within six months, as the players were repeatedly told by club bosses it would be, he would have played out his career in red and black.
You've just shot yourself in the foot Paddy. If you choose to go down the "Breach of Contract" route, this line will be trotted out by the lawyers.
Don't forget Conners doesn't have a big stable of players so the more they earn the more he earns
Also notice how many of his players over the last few years threaten to or do leave their clubs as clubs sick of his tactics on new contracts
Also notice not many of his players do get any endorsement contracts from sponsors
Also notice how he sniffs out potential underage players for management by giving inducements (totally against AFL rules by the way) to family I'm talking 14 year olds
Look at cha
Well you know you need your ■■■ whooped
For holding on her hand like you going on a first grade class trip
Conners feels unable
To keep 'em in his stable
Lest they listen to the Cristal popping at the next table
3AWisfootball .@3AWNeilMitchell: Is there any chance Paddy could stay at Essendon? Connors: No. Also said if it doesn;t work out well he could be lost to footy. How orchestrated is this. Unbelievable.
Ryder’s greedy manager and family will be the bigger loser in that case, not football.
Fixed.
Paddy might be lost to footy? I call BS ! Paddy and his pimp would be left short at that rate. Won’t happen but call them on it. Refuse to trade
Would it be too much for anyone in the f*cking media to point out that for any of the "supplements" to have an effect on Paddy's kid:
1) They would need to be capable of altering his DNA (and how hard it is to ACTUALLY do this); or
2) His partner would have had to take them instead/as well.
I mean, f*ck me, it shouldn't be that hard, but then again you wouldn't trust most of these sh*t eating halfwits to get a shopping list right.
Speaking of which, anyone seen the Brow's "best 22" article today? Some real stellar work from that oxygen-thieving intellectual pygmy again this morning.
Surprising that we are still looknig down the "free agency" route. I'd rather us get GWS involved, either as a 3rd party in getting Ryder to Port, or trying to deal Ryder to GWS. If he just wants out of EFC verbatim, then surely he will be happy to go to whoever gives us the best deal right?
Seriously people, leave Paddy's wife out of this, and, even though I despise the maggot, leave Connors out too. This whole thing is pure, 100% Paddy, driven by greed and laziness. The responsibility for this is his, and his alone.
Doubt the speculation about his partner changes anything guys. Is also pretty distasteful.
Most of this thread is pretty distasteful to be honest. Understand fans are upset, but we can't know what it's been like for him and his family the last 2 years. He wouldn't be a good parent if he wasn't concerned for the health of his child, and none of us should be judging him for that regardless of the circumstances.

Absolutely correct. May his manager should be focusing on other clubs to get the player out of the 'toxic environment', rather than just lobbing bombs at Essendon.
let him say what he wants ...we have heard it all before anyway . he is no more an Essendon person that is Eddie Mc . He is all for Paddy , which is fine , but just say so , don't do interviews and ■■■■ on everyone ...just say i want out cause i don't like it here and i want more money and this place is ■■■■■■ up . Ok we are crap , we will not like but get it . Don't go but this ohh poor me stuff because his manager read the play wrong. It just further diminishes the man more and more everyday ,,he will get out and he will get his cash and he may get his premiership and the club should shake his hand on the way out and they last time he is ever at any thing EFC .
The usual media suspects will latch onto the deformed baby angle and run with it, sticking the boots into EFC etc., but with a number of mixed messages Paddy hasn't really done himself any huge favours with that interview, especially if his manager wants to go down the "clause" route, or to get to Port.
Also, saying you just have to get of EFC gives us licence to trade him anywhere that offers a good deal. I'd say deal with anyone but Port. They have proven that they are not only too hard to deal with, but will use underhanded methods as well. If it were any other business you'd say if you're going to play dirty, fark off, we've got 16 other businesses who'd jump at the opportunity to deal with us regarding this player.

Agree - but on another level the fans have been dragged through the mud as well. I am sure many of us have had to endure some very horrible things implied/said by other football supporters. This issue is giving us an individual to vent at and take out our 20 months of frustration.
A lot worse has been said about much in here over time, including from those calling the high moral road on this accassion. Don't pick and choose your moral standing when it suits you. All three parties are responsible for what Paddy is doing and the bucks stops at all three.
I don't really care about his reasons or actually anything else about Patrick Ryder and his family.
He has a contract, so he plays or he is in breach. If he is in breach then he pays compensation to the Club for its loss and doesn't play again for two years.
The decision is his.
All of us, have to make hard decisions in our lives, and sometimes at great cost. We live with them and Patrick Ryder has to do the same.
From my side, I would never let anyone leave a contract unless it greatly benefited me; that is why we sign contracts.
