Go Get F'ed - The Pizza edition

Not wog enough.

I can't believe chicken is so hated here.

Chicken Avocado pizza is the ■■■■.

I wouldn’t put avocado within a million miles of a pizza…and I love avocado…cold!

Chicken on pizza is an obscenity.

Any thoughts on either of these…

Chicken on pizza is an obscenity.

I can’t remember what it was called, but I had a pizza with prawns, avocado and Camembert cheese not long ago.

It was awesome.

There used to be a smokehouse pizza shop in Belgrave. There were some pretty tasty pizza’s coming out of there.
Tex Mex was a good one, had avacado, jalepeno’s, sour cream etc

Decent seafood one, sometimes with oysters even.

The firebox?

Any pizza with meat on it is crap. Can't beat a good vegie pizza. The Pizza joint at Bittern used to lace their's with fennel. Geez it was good...then they changed hands.

The hell is this?

He’s right. Nothing beats a mushroom and zucchini pizza. However I will say that a little anchovies does go a long way.

If you it’s MEAT you want, get a curry brahs.

Chicken of any variety - no way known Artichokes, rocket - all that sort of crap - no

I’ve had 2 good places for marinara - Trevis in Glenhuntly Rd (long gone), and a place in Kailua on the Big Island. Had a few crap ones too at other places.

I tend to run with Mexicans, Volcanos, never minded the Aussie with an egg

Trevis had a Tropical - with shrimps, pineapple and capsicum - that was good, as was their Brooklyn - meatballs and onions.

One of the best I had was a Madrid in Commercial Rd in about 1980 - hot salami, pineapple, spring onions and lots of chili. I was in pain the next day. The pizza joint shut down a little while later as that area became the gay heart of Melbourne. But no-one would do as much damage to your freckle as that Madrid.

There are three pizza joints in Port Fairy - one traditional, one new-age and one semi-traditional toppings (plus some fancy others) but use frozen pizza bases.

Place in Banksia Street Bellfield/Ivanhoe/Heidelberg West used to do a Mamma’s special. Lots of garlic, lots of chili. Can’t remember anything else. New management took the Mamma’s special off the menu :frowning: Now’s that was a freckle-tickling pizza.

Acceptable pizza toppings:
  1. Pepperoni
  2. Cheese

Sometimes double the pepperoni. If you’re feeling trendy add Feta and Rocket.

You’re a monster.

Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

The only way I could go there again is if the rocket was added to said pizza after the oven. I just can’t do wilted and warm, leafty greens. It doesn’t taste right.

The feta and the pepperoni I’m cool with. I’ll just take the rocket off…

Wilted greens are legit.

Most places tend to have them come out blackened though, not wilted

On first glance I though the thread title said Pazza, not Pizza...

The Japanese don’t get pizza at all. Every single farken one gets slathered in mayo or covered in corn, or both. And the crusts suck. You do Dominos there just to survive.

One of my fave pizza memories was ordering a Hawaiian in the presence of an Italian. She lost her ■■■■ about pineapple being on it. I called back the waiter and asked to get extra pineapple to put on top.

You went to Japan and ate pizza :s

Can anyone guess what I’m eating tonight?

As i said above give st loui’s in Thornbury a shot.

DOC is brilliant, their broccoli and their Margarita are brilliant.

Meine liebe is only good if you’re next door at Joe’s. Moorshead is ok but not the best.

If you’re on the lookout for good old fashioned pizza in the Northcote area, give pizza stazione in Fairfield a go.

Is Passion Cafe (Victoria Rd Northcote) still in business?

Topolinos in Fitzroy street.

I lived in Thornbury/Preston between 1998-2005.

Sylvesters on High Street was our Takeaway Pizza of choice.
Man, they were so consistently good.
I think it was the sauce they used…great recipe !

Can any of the Northern suburbs Blitzers confirm if they are still going ?
THT or Zimmer…

Good quality hot salami will make just about any pizza. Not burn your ■■■■■■■■ off hot, just right.

Don’t get the hate for chicken, I don’t mind it for a change.

Any greens on a pizza can fark right off. The only thing green should be capsicum or oregano.

Wife just said she wants a pizza, I’ll see if she will try St Louis. She’s a creature of habit tho.

Also I’ll keep an eye out for Sylvesters or whatever the other one is. There’s a few that still do the 80s style shredded ham with pineapple, garlic bread and coke for $20 bucks…
